MetaVGC Arena #4 MonoRegion results recap

MetaVGC Arena #4 | MonoRegion | $10 Prize was played on Limitless on 2026-11-05, with 39 players competing in Pokemon Champions Regulation Set M-C. rr12rr12 [BR] won the event at 7-1-0, defeating Gabeeel [BR] in the final round matchup.

Place Player Record Team
1 rr12rr12 [BR] 7-1-0 Pelipper, Swampert, Blaziken, Salamence, Metagross, Milotic
2 Gabeeel [BR] 5-3-0 Scrafty, Volcarona, Reuniclus, Vanilluxe, Hydreigon, Excadrill
3 Pacca [IT] 5-2-0 Volcarona, Whimsicott, Eelektross, Scrafty, Vanilluxe, Excadrill
4 RoVictorio [BR] 5-2-0 Charizard, Venusaur, Clefable, Dragonite, Raichu, Gyarados

rr12rr12’s winning team was built around clear weather pressure and layered speed control. Pelipper supplied Drizzle while holding Choice Scarf, giving it immediate access to fast Hurricane, Weather Ball, Muddy Water, and Ice Beam. That supports Swampert, which carried Swampertite with Wave Crash, Earthquake, Ice Punch, and Protect, forming the team’s most direct rain payoff.

The rest of the six kept the team from being only a rain composition. Blaziken used Focus Sash and Speed Boost with Rock Slide, Close Combat, Temper Flare, and Detect, adding a self-scaling physical threat. Salamence brought Intimidate, Salamencite, Hyper Voice, Draco Meteor, Tailwind, and Protect, giving both damage and another speed-control layer. Metagross, with Life Orb and Clear Body, added Bullet Punch, Psychic Fangs, Stomping Tantrum, and Protect, while Milotic’s Competitive punished opposing Intimidate attempts and offered Ice Beam, Icy Wind, Scald, and Protect. Between Choice Scarf, Tailwind, Icy Wind, Speed Boost, and priority from Bullet Punch, the winning team had several ways to control turn order rather than relying on one mode.

The rest of the top cut showed a strong mix of weather, setup, and Mega-focused offense. Gabeeel and Pacca both used Volcarona, Scrafty, Vanilluxe, and Excadrill, though with different item and move choices. Volcarona appeared on both teams with Leftovers, Flame Body, Heat Wave, Quiver Dance, and Protect. Vanilluxe gave both teams Snow Warning, while Excadrill carried Excadrite on each list. Scrafty also appeared twice near the top, with Intimidate and Fake Out giving both teams immediate board control.

Sun was another major presence. RoVictorio used Charizard with Charizardite Y alongside Venusaur with Life Orb and Chlorophyll, while NMR | Correiazinho also paired Charizardite Y Charizard with Life Orb Venusaur. kunzitoo used Ninetales with Drought and another Life Orb Chlorophyll Venusaur. Across these teams, Venusaur repeatedly carried Leaf Storm and Sludge Bomb, with Earth Power appearing on RoVictorio’s and kunzitoo’s versions.

Several items repeated across high finishes. Life Orb appeared on Metagross, Reuniclus, Venusaur, Hisuian Samurott, and multiple top-eight Venusaur sets. Leftovers was used on Volcarona, Gyarados, and Corviknight. Sitrus Berry appeared on Milotic, Clefable, Gyarados, and another Gyarados. Focus Sash showed up on Blaziken, Sneasler, and Aerodactyl, reinforcing how often teams valued guaranteed action from fragile utility or offense.

Takeaway for ladder players: build with more than one speed-control plan, because the winning team combined weather, Tailwind, Icy Wind, Speed Boost, and priority into a flexible endgame structure.
