Fizzy14’s winning team was a direct rain-centered Water composition built around Pelipper with Sitrus Berry, Drizzle, Tailwind, Wide Guard, Hurricane, and Weather Ball. That gave the team immediate weather, speed control, and protection against spread pressure, while still threatening damage. Swampert with Swampertite supplied the primary physical mode with Wave Crash, Earthquake, Ice Punch, and Protect, giving Fizzy14 a clean attacker that could pressure common targets without needing a complicated setup turn.
Basculegion was another key piece, holding Focus Sash with Adaptability and a set of Liquidation, Last Respects, Aqua Jet, and Protect. The combination of Focus Sash and priority Aqua Jet made it a reliable late-game attacker, while Last Respects gave the team a stronger endgame plan if trades piled up. Wash Rotom added a fast Timid Magnet set with Thunderbolt, Electroweb, Hydro Pump, and Protect, giving the team another form of speed control through Electroweb. Primarina carried Life Orb and Liquid Voice with Hyper Voice, Aqua Jet, Moonblast, and Protect, adding spread damage and Fairy coverage. Golisopod rounded out the six with Golisopite, Emergency Exit, Leech Life, Sucker Punch, Iron Head, and Protect, giving the team priority and additional physical pressure.
The clearest trend near the top was the repeated Water structure. Fizzy14 and Orestis P used the same six Pokemon: Pelipper, Swampert, Wash Rotom, Primarina, Golisopod, and Basculegion, with several item and nature differences. kazpazenecca in fifth also used Swampert, Golisopod, Pelipper, Basculegion, Toxapex, and Wash Rotom, reinforcing how strong that core was in this field.
Basculegion appeared on each of the top three teams, though with different roles: Fizzy14 used Focus Sash and Adaptability, Orestis P used Life Orb and Adaptability, and ash_18 used Focus Sash and Swift Swim. Pelipper with Drizzle was present on the top two teams and fifth-place team, while Swampert with Swampertite appeared on first, second, and fifth. Golisopod with Golisopite was also common among those Water builds.
Outside the Water cluster, TayOpkMn’s fourth-place team leaned into Psychic Terrain and Trick Room with Indeedee ♀, Armarouge, Hatterene, Gardevoir, Slowking, and Gallade. Expanding Force was shared across Armarouge, Hatterene, Gardevoir, and Slowking, giving that team a very different but still highly structured game plan.
Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for Pelipper plus Swampert rain cores, but also keep a clear plan into Psychic Surge and Trick Room teams.
