PokeReplay’s winning team was built around strong positional control and flexible damage pacing. Gholdengo carried Life Orb with Good as Gold and a Modest nature, using Protect, Shadow Ball, Nasty Plot, and Make It Rain. That gave the team a clear setup threat and a spread-damage payoff. Volcarona added Rocky Helmet, Flame Body, Rage Powder, Tailwind, Struggle Bug, and Overheat, providing both redirection and speed control while also punishing contact.
The rest of the roster supported that plan with familiar but effective pressure tools. Garchomp used Garchompite Z with Dragon Pulse, Earth Power, Power Gem, and Protect, giving the team another special attacker despite Garchomp’s usual physical reputation. Incineroar supplied Sitrus Berry, Intimidate, Parting Shot, Fake Out, Flare Blitz, and Darkest Lariat. Rillaboom brought Miracle Seed, Grassy Surge, Grassy Glide, Wood Hammer, Fake Out, and U-turn. Raichu rounded out the team with Raichunite Y, Lightning Rod, Zap Cannon, Focus Blast, Fake Out, and Protect. Between double Fake Out, Tailwind, Rage Powder, Intimidate, Parting Shot, U-turn, and Lightning Rod, the team had many ways to create turns for Gholdengo or Garchomp to attack safely.
Across the top standings, several patterns stood out. Rillaboom appeared on three of the top four teams, and Incineroar appeared on two of the top four, continuing their role as high-value support pieces. Fake Out was especially common: PokeReplay had it on Incineroar, Rillaboom, and Raichu, while Jake45 had it on Raichu and Rillaboom, and Dimkakoren had it on Incineroar and Rillaboom.
Gholdengo was shared by first and third, both holding Life Orb and using Make It Rain, Shadow Ball, Nasty Plot, and Protect. Raichu also appeared on both of those teams with Raichunite Y, Lightning Rod, Timid, Zap Cannon, Focus Blast, Fake Out, and Protect. Archaludon showed up in second and fourth with Leftovers, Stamina, Electro Shot, Dragon Pulse, Flash Cannon, and Protect.
Speed and field control were major themes. Tailwind appeared on Volcarona, Pelipper, and Staraptor among the top three teams. Weather also mattered: Bart_1998 used Charizardite Y, Chlorophyll Venusaur, Swampertite, and Pelipper with Drizzle, while Dimkakoren used Politoed with Drizzle and Froslass with Rain Dance. Sitrus Berry, Life Orb, Miracle Seed, Leftovers, Focus Sash, and multiple Mega-style stones were all represented in the upper standings.
Takeaway for ladder players: prioritize teams that combine immediate Fake Out positioning with a clear damage engine and at least one reliable form of speed or redirection control.
