Nexus Challenge #5 Pokémon Champions results recap

The 🧿 Nexus Challenge #5 • Pokémon Champions 🇧🇷 was played on 2026-09-29 on Limitless, drawing 23 players for Pokemon Champions Regulation Set M-C. The final round listing had pequenorei1 defeating eduardo_leite, while the published standings finished with LT Eduardo Fachineti [BR] on top at 8-0-0.

Place Player Record Team
1 LT Eduardo Fachineti [BR] 8-0-0 Staraptor / Hisuian Arcanine / Rillaboom / Gholdengo / Milotic / Raichu
2 Eduardo Leite [BR] 6-2-0 Salamence / Eternal Flower Floette / Rillaboom / Incineroar / Gallade / Rhyperior
3 Eros Braune [BR] 5-2-0 Lucario / Gardevoir / Indeedee ♀ / Kingambit / Hisuian Arcanine / Dragapult
4 Rodrigo Avendaño [CL] 5-2-0 Glimmora / Volcarona / Rillaboom / Metagross / Milotic / Indeedee ♀

LT Eduardo Fachineti’s winning team had a clear blend of speed control, pressure, and defensive counterplay. Staraptor carried Staraptite with Intimidate, Jolly nature, Tailwind, Brave Bird, Close Combat, and Protect, giving the team both pace and immediate physical damage. Raichu with Raichunite Y and Lightning Rod added another Fake Out user alongside Rillaboom, while also threatening with Zap Cannon and Focus Blast.

The offensive core was straightforward but difficult to ignore. Hisuian Arcanine used Focus Sash, Rock Head, Flare Blitz, Head Smash, Extreme Speed, and Protect, letting it trade aggressively without recoil from its main attacks. Gholdengo held Life Orb with Good as Gold, Make It Rain, Shadow Ball, Nasty Plot, and Protect, giving the team a special attacker that could snowball if opponents gave it space.

Rillaboom was the glue piece: Sitrus Berry, Grassy Surge, Wood Hammer, Grassy Glide, Fake Out, and U-turn gave the team terrain, priority, pivoting, and board control. Milotic rounded out the six with Grassy Seed and Competitive, using Scald, Ice Beam, Dragon Tail, and Recover. That set punished opposing stat drops while also benefiting from the team’s own Grassy Terrain support.

Across the top teams, Rillaboom was the most obvious trend. It appeared on three of the top four teams and on every team from first through eighth in the standings. Grassy Surge plus Fake Out and Grassy Glide remained a major baseline for Regulation Set M-C team structure, with item choices ranging from Sitrus Berry to Miracle Seed and Life Orb.

Intimidate also mattered near the top. The winning team used Staraptor, while second place had both Salamence and Incineroar. That made Competitive users especially notable: Milotic appeared on the first and fourth-place teams, each with Competitive, though with different item choices in Grassy Seed and Psychic Seed.

Hisuian Arcanine was another repeated high-finishing pick, appearing on first and third with Focus Sash, Rock Head, Flare Blitz, Head Smash, Extreme Speed, and Protect. Indeedee ♀ also showed up in both third and fourth, supporting very different builds with Psychic Surge.

Takeaway for ladder players: prepare seriously for Rillaboom-centered boards, Focus Sash Hisuian Arcanine, and Competitive Milotic when building for Regulation Set M-C.
