Warwick Online VGC Tournament results: Vgcorner wins

The Warwick Online VGC Tournament was played on 2026-09-05 on Limitless, drawing 130 players for Pokemon Champions Regulation Set M-B. Vgcorner finished first at 12-1-0, defeating CloudDino, while Coizey [IE] beat Maruki [US] before Vgcorner won the final match over Coizey.

Place Player Record Team
1 Vgcorner 12-1-0 Gengar, Swampert, Incineroar, Politoed, Archaludon, Vivillon
2 Coizey [IE] 10-3-0 Raichu, Primarina, Incineroar, Sinistcha, Delphox, Farigiraf
3 Rein_Uno 9-3-0 Venusaur, Basculegion, Archaludon, Grimmsnarl, Pelipper, Charizard
4 CloudDino [GB] 9-3-0 Sneasler, Basculegion, Dragonite, Politoed, Farigiraf, Mawile

Vgcorner’s winning team was built around a flexible rain shell with multiple endgame plans. Politoed brought Drizzle, Sitrus Berry, Weather Ball, Encore, Perish Song, and Protect, giving the team both weather control and a way to pressure slower positions. Swampert with Swampertite, Torrent, Adamant, Wave Crash, Earthquake, Ice Punch, and Protect was the direct physical attacker that benefited most clearly from that structure.

The other major axis was Gengar with Gengarite, Cursed Body, Modest, Shadow Ball, Sludge Bomb, Perish Song, and Protect. Having Perish Song on both Gengar and Politoed meant Vgcorner could threaten game states that did not rely only on taking knockouts. Incineroar added the expected compression with Passho Berry, Intimidate, Fake Out, Throat Chop, Parting Shot, and Protect, while Vivillon supplied Focus Sash, Compound Eyes, Hurricane, Sleep Powder, Rage Powder, and Protect for disruption and redirection. Archaludon rounded out the team with Leftovers, Stamina, Dragon Pulse, Flash Cannon, Electro Shot, and Protect, giving the composition a durable special attacker that also fit naturally beside Drizzle.

Across the top teams, weather was the clearest shared thread. Politoed appeared on both Vgcorner’s first-place team and CloudDino’s fourth-place team, while Pelipper appeared on Rein_Uno, Oyerrr [ID], and palmivgc [IT]. Charizard with Charizardite Y showed up repeatedly as well, appearing on Rein_Uno, Oyerrr [ID], palmivgc [IT], and almondspy [GB].

Archaludon was another defining pick near the top. Vgcorner, Rein_Uno, Oyerrr [ID], palmivgc [IT], and Maruki [US] all used Archaludon with Leftovers and Stamina, with Electro Shot, Dragon Pulse, Flash Cannon, and Protect appearing in different orders across those teams. Basculegion was also common, appearing on Rein_Uno, CloudDino [GB], palmivgc [IT], and almondspy [GB], usually alongside Wave Crash, Last Respects, and Aqua Jet.

Support items and disruption tools were just as prominent. Sitrus Berry appeared on Politoed, Pelipper, Incineroar, and Garchomp across the top 8. Focus Sash appeared on Vivillon, Sneasler, Venusaur, Kingambit, and Whimsicott. Farigiraf with Armor Tail and Trick Room made the top 4 twice, on Coizey [IE] and CloudDino [GB], while Incineroar reached both finals teams.

Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for Drizzle cores, Leftovers Stamina Archaludon, and Perish Song or redirection-based endgames.
