Hatterene Series Summer Showdown 2026 results recap

Hatterene Series Summer Showdown 2026 was a 22-player online event on Limitless, played in Pokemon Champions Regulation Set M-B on 2026-07-25. Izzywooperstan finished first at 8-1-0, with the final round also featuring wins by MeganVGC over Lavender, Izzywooperstan over Ragdoll2IGuess, and Flyerblem over TsareenaFaye.

Place Player Record Team
1 Izzywooperstan 8-1-0 Charizard, Whimsicott, Basculegion, Mawile, Farigiraf, Garchomp
2 MeganVGC 6-3-0 Glimmora, Staraptor, Hydreigon, Gholdengo, Milotic, Whimsicott
3 Lavender 5-3-0 Charizard, Venusaur, Grimmsnarl, Pelipper, Archaludon, Basculegion
4 Ophelia C 5-3-0 Chimecho, Archaludon, Pelipper, Incineroar, Kingambit, Sylveon

Izzywooperstan’s winning team had a clear mix of fast pressure, priority, and flexible speed control. Charizard (Charizardite Y / Solar Power / Modest) supplied spread damage with Heat Wave and coverage through Weather Ball and Solar Beam, while Protect gave it the standard defensive option needed around opposing speed control. Whimsicott was the clean enabler: Focus Sash, Prankster, Timid, with Moonblast, Tailwind, Encore, and Protect. That set gives the team immediate Tailwind access while still threatening disruption through Encore.

The rest of the composition made the speed modes harder to answer. Basculegion (Mystic Water / Adaptability / Adamant) brought Wave Crash, Aqua Jet, Last Respects, and Protect, giving the team both direct Water-type pressure and endgame priority. Mawile (Mawilite / Intimidate / Adamant) added Play Rough, Iron Head, Sucker Punch, and Rock Slide, meaning Izzywooperstan could pressure with both strong contact damage and priority from another slot. Farigiraf (Sitrus Berry / Armor Tail / Relaxed) was especially important structurally, carrying Psychic, Thunderbolt, Helping Hand, and Trick Room. It gave the team a slower mode and could amplify partners with Helping Hand. Garchomp (Life Orb / Rough Skin / Adamant) rounded things out with Earthquake, Dragon Claw, Rock Slide, and Protect, giving another spread threat alongside Charizard and Mawile.

Across the top teams, Charizard was one of the clearest headline picks, appearing on the champion’s team, Lavender’s third-place team, and Ragdoll2IGuess’s eighth-place team, each with Charizardite Y and the same core attacks of Heat Wave, Solar Beam, Weather Ball, and Protect. Basculegion also showed up repeatedly, appearing on teams from Izzywooperstan, Lavender, and Kira2317 with Aqua Jet and Last Respects on all three sets.

Speed control was everywhere. Whimsicott appeared in first and second, both with Focus Sash, Prankster, Timid, Moonblast, Tailwind, Encore, and Protect. Farigiraf appeared on multiple top-eight teams with Sitrus Berry and Armor Tail, while Pelipper placed third and fourth with Drizzle, Hurricane, Weather Ball, and Tailwind. Archaludon plus Pelipper appeared on both Lavender’s and Ophelia C’s teams, with Archaludon using Leftovers and Stamina in each case.

The other major trend was resilient physical Dark-type pressure. Kingambit appeared on four top-eight teams, with Defiant, Sucker Punch, and Kowtow Cleave as common points. Incineroar also remained relevant on multiple top-eight teams with Intimidate, Fake Out, and Parting Shot.

Takeaway for ladder players: build with both immediate speed control and a plan for opposing priority, because the top teams leaned heavily on Tailwind, Trick Room, Aqua Jet, Sucker Punch, and Armor Tail.
