MetaVGC Arena #2 | Off-Meta Edition| $10 Prize was a 44-player online Pokemon Champions Regulation Set M-C event played on Limitless on 2026-10-22. rr12rr12 finished undefeated at 8-0-0, winning the final round match against Effort.

Place Player Record Team
1 rr12rr12 [BR] 8-0-0 Lucario / Conkeldurr / Hydreigon / Maushold / Vivillon / Gardevoir
2 Effort [BR] 6-2-0 Tyranitar / Excadrill / Annihilape / Primarina / Scovillain / Corviknight
3 leodoarrocha [BR] 6-1-0 Swampert / Politoed / Dragonite / Overqwil / Corviknight / Annihilape
4 Gabeeel [BR] 5-2-0 Metagross / Indeedee / Meowscarada / Clefable / Hydreigon / Blaziken

rr12rr12’s winning team leaned into layered pressure rather than a single mode. Lucario with Lucarionite Z, Inner Focus, Nasty Plot, Aura Sphere, Flash Cannon, and Protect gave the team a fast setup-oriented special attacker that could force immediate respect. Gardevoir with Gardevoirite, Trace, Hyper Voice, Psychic, Calm Mind, and Protect added another special win condition, giving the composition multiple ways to scale damage if the opponent gave up a free turn.

The support structure was just as important. Maushold carried Wide Lens with Technician, combining Population Bomb pressure with Follow Me, Protect, and Feint. Vivillon provided Focus Sash, Compound Eyes Sleep Powder, Hurricane, Pollen Puff, and Rage Powder, giving rr12rr12 redirection and disruption in the same slot. That double redirection core helped create setup opportunities for Lucario and Gardevoir while also making positioning awkward for opposing offensive teams.

Conkeldurr and Hydreigon rounded out the squad with practical coverage and tempo control. Conkeldurr used Life Orb, Iron Fist, Mach Punch, Drain Punch, Thunder Punch, and Wide Guard, giving the team priority, recovery through Drain Punch, and protection against spread pressure. Hydreigon’s Choice Scarf set with Snarl, Dark Pulse, Earth Power, and Draco Meteor added speed control through item choice and gave rr12rr12 a way to lower opposing special damage with Snarl while still threatening immediate attacks.

Across the top teams, Mega-style centerpiece choices were varied. The top four featured Lucarionite Z, Gardevoirite, Tyranitarite, Scovillainite, Swampertite, Dragoninite, Metagrossite, and Blazikenite, showing a broad spread of primary threats rather than one dominant pick. Weather still showed up strongly: Effort used Tyranitar and Excadrill with Sand Stream and Sand Rush, while leodoarrocha used Politoed with Drizzle alongside Swampert, Dragonite, and Overqwil.

Several Pokemon repeated near the top. Hydreigon appeared on both rr12rr12 and Gabeeel’s teams. Corviknight and Annihilape were both present on Effort and leodoarrocha’s teams. Politoed appeared multiple times in the wider top cut, including leodoarrocha, Ragnelson, and Buggs. Lucario and Vivillon also appeared on both rr12rr12 and Ragnelson’s teams.

Item trends were clear as well. Focus Sash appeared on Vivillon, Excadrill, Indeedee, Whimsicott, and Alakazam among the listed top teams. Choice Scarf showed up on Hydreigon, Annihilape, Meowscarada, and Kleavor. Life Orb was used by Conkeldurr, Hydreigon, Hatterene, and Scrafty, while Leftovers and Sitrus Berry remained common defensive choices.

Takeaway for ladder players: rr12rr12’s run shows that double redirection plus multiple setup attackers can still carry an event when backed by priority, Wide Guard, and Choice Scarf speed.
