John B’s winning team was built around rain, but it was not just a one-dimensional weather offense. Pelipper provided Drizzle, Focus Sash, Tailwind, Helping Hand, Weather Ball, and Hurricane, giving the team immediate speed control and rain consistency. Basculegion ♀ was the clearest rain attacker, using Life Orb, Swift Swim, and a Modest nature with Protect, Muddy Water, Shadow Ball, and Ice Beam.
The rest of the team gave John B multiple ways to play around speed. Sneasler carried Electric Seed and Unburden with Swords Dance, Close Combat, Dire Claw, and Protect, offering a fast physical win condition once activated. Farigiraf added Armor Tail, Trick Room, Helping Hand, Rain Dance, and Psychic, meaning the team could deny priority, reset rain, and operate in slower modes when needed. Raichu with Raichunite X and Lightning Rod added Fake Out pressure plus Electric immunity support, while Archaludon with Leftovers, Stamina, Protect, Electro Shot, Dragon Pulse, and Flash Cannon fit naturally beside rain support.
Across the top teams, Sneasler was the standout repeated Pokemon. It appeared on John B, EwanGa, JayWarwick, Sazandora MX, and Srishanth, with sets ranging from Electric Seed Unburden to Focus Sash Poison Touch and White Herb Unburden. Kingambit was also common near the top, appearing on Rahzar, EwanGa, and dea999, always with Defiant and priority pressure from Sucker Punch.
Weather remained a major theme. John B used Pelipper rain, Rahzar and dea999 both brought Charizard with Charizardite Y, Anthola used Hippowdon with Sand Stream, and Srishanth paired Tyranitar with Excadrill. Support items were also heavily represented: Focus Sash appeared on Pelipper, Whimsicott, Sneasler, Kingambit, and Excadrill, while Sitrus Berry showed up on Farigiraf, Incineroar, and Volcarona. Raichu was another notable pick, appearing on John B, JayWarwick, and Anthola with Lightning Rod and Raichunite variants.
Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for Sneasler, layered speed control, and weather teams that can pivot into secondary modes.
