SalvyPara’s first-place team was built around a strong mix of trapping, pivoting, and speed control. Gengar carried Gengarite with Shadow Tag, using Shadow Ball, Sludge Bomb, Protect, and Perish Song. That gives the team a clear endgame path when paired with defensive positioning and repeated disruption.

The support core was especially important. Incineroar brought Chople Berry, Intimidate, Fake Out, Flare Blitz, Protect, and Parting Shot, while Rillaboom used Eject Button, Grassy Surge, Fake Out, Grassy Glide, Protect, and U-turn. Together, they gave SalvyPara multiple ways to slow games down, cycle board states, and create safer turns for Gengar, Kommo-o, or Kingambit.

Kommo-o was a notable setup piece with Leftovers, Soundproof, Clanging Scales, Aura Sphere, Protect, and Clangorous Soul. Aerodactyl added another angle with Aerodactylite, Unnerve, Rock Slide, Dual Wingbeat, Protect, and Tailwind. Kingambit rounded out the squad with Focus Sash, Defiant, Kowtow Cleave, Low Kick, Protect, and Sucker Punch, giving the team priority pressure and a direct answer to Intimidate-heavy positioning.

Across the top teams, Rillaboom was the clearest trend. It appeared on each of the top four teams and six of the top eight, most often with Grassy Surge, Fake Out, Grassy Glide, and either Miracle Seed or another utility item. Incineroar also remained common, appearing on three of the top four teams and four of the top eight, usually combining Intimidate with Fake Out and Flare Blitz.

Sneasler was another repeated pick, appearing on five of the top eight teams. Grassy Seed plus Unburden showed up on Darius_Milkmaker, vedantff12345, and leoroop’s teams, while Idolomantis used Focus Sash and BlazeKick used Psychic Seed. Salamence with Salamencite also had a strong showing, appearing on the teams that placed third, fourth, fifth, and sixth.

Other repeated pieces included Kingambit on three top-eight teams, Gholdengo on two, and Tyranitar plus Excadrill sand cores in sixth and eighth. The event also had room for more dedicated modes, including gekodan’s Indeedee ♀, Armarouge, Hatterene, Torkoal, and Golisopod composition.

Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for Rillaboom, Incineroar, Sneasler, and Salamence cores, but do not ignore slower trap or setup plans like Gengar plus Perish Song.
