RoarMistico’s winning team was built around direct pressure backed by flexible defensive support. Staraptor held Staraptite with Intimidate and a Jolly nature, giving the team a fast physical attacker with Protect, Roost, Close Combat, and Brave Bird. Garchomp added another immediate damage source with Life Orb, Rough Skin, and a Jolly set of Protect, Rock Slide, Earthquake, and Dragon Claw.
The support structure was clear. Whimsicott carried Occa Berry and Prankster with Moonblast, Tailwind, Charm, and Light Screen, giving RoarMistico both speed control and tools to reduce incoming damage. Delphox used Delphoxite with Protect, Psychic, Heat Wave, and Substitute, offering special pressure that could punish passive turns. Glimmora, on Focus Sash with Toxic Debris, brought Spiky Shield plus Earth Power, Power Gem, and Sludge Bomb. Kingambit rounded out the six with Chople Berry, Defiant, and Adamant Kowtow Cleave, Iron Head, Sucker Punch, and Low Kick, giving the team a strong late-game priority option and a way to punish opposing stat drops.
The most visible trend near the top was Staraptor. It appeared on each of the top three teams with Staraptite and Intimidate, and also showed up later in the standings as a Choice Scarf Intimidate attacker on Dragonis’s team. The top two non-winning teams were especially similar: LuckySama and BahamuthVGC both used Tyranitar, Excadrill, Milotic, Sinistcha, Staraptor, and Gholdengo. Their shared sand core used Tyranitar with Sand Stream and Excadrill with Sand Rush, while Gholdengo carried Life Orb and Good as Gold on both teams. Sinistcha also appeared on both with Hospitality and Kasib Berry.
Weather was a major theme beyond sand. Noktuska’s fourth-place team combined Charizard with Charizardite Y, Pelipper with Drizzle, and Venusaur with Venusaurite and Chlorophyll, while HighHonorsJacob also used Pelipper and Basculegion. Charizardite Y appeared again on Dragonis and RoiRehh, making Charizard one of the notable recurring picks in the top eight.
Item patterns were also consistent. Focus Sash appeared on Glimmora, Excadrill, Whimsicott, Sneasler, and Kingambit across the listed teams. Life Orb was used on RoarMistico’s Garchomp, LuckySama’s Gholdengo, BahamuthVGC’s Gholdengo, Dragonis’s Garchomp, and RoiRehh’s Kommo-o. Sitrus Berry and Leftovers also showed up repeatedly on bulkier support or utility Pokemon such as Milotic, Pelipper, Farigiraf, Archaludon, and Incineroar.
Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for Staraptite Staraptor, sand with Tyranitar and Excadrill, and fast Tailwind-based offense when building for Regulation Set M-B.
