ChefRich22’s winning team was built around fast positioning and layered offensive pressure. Whimsicott supplied Prankster Tailwind with Encore and Charm as disruption, letting the rest of the team dictate tempo. Delphox with Delphoxite gave the team a special Fire/Psychic attacker with Heat Wave, Psychic, Substitute, and Protect, while Staraptor with Staraptite and Contrary paired Brave Bird and Close Combat with Roost and Protect for a strong physical angle.
The rest of the roster rounded out the pressure well. Glimmora used Focus Sash and Toxic Debris with Power Gem, Sludge Bomb, Earth Power, and Spiky Shield, giving ChefRich22 a lead option that could trade damage while threatening multiple types. Garchomp carried Life Orb with Protect, Dragon Claw, Rock Slide, and Earthquake, offering spread damage and immediate physical output. Kingambit, using Black Glasses and Defiant, provided a reliable late-game threat with Kowtow Cleave, Sucker Punch, Iron Head, and Protect. The six combined speed control, spread damage, priority, and anti-disruption tools without relying on a single mode.
Across the top teams, Whimsicott was one of the clearest trends. It appeared on the first, second, third, and seventh-place teams, always with Prankster and Tailwind, and usually with Focus Sash outside of ChefRich22’s Occa Berry version. Kingambit was also prominent, appearing on three of the top four teams and again on Josecovi’s sixth-place team. Black Glasses Defiant Kingambit was especially common, used by ChefRich22, Sooner, and Josecovi.
Weather was another major theme. kunzitoo used Politoed with Drizzle alongside Charizard with Charizardite Y, while masajji brought Pelipper with Drizzle and Swampert with Swampertite. joethefenix also paired Pelipper, Basculegion, Archaludon, and Charizard, and gaergaeaf used Pelipper with Basculegion and Archaludon. Charizard with Charizardite Y appeared on the third, fifth, sixth, and seventh-place teams, making it one of the most visible high-finishing offensive picks.
Focus Sash was also widespread, showing up on Glimmora, multiple Whimsicott, Pelipper, and Basculegion across the listed teams. That points to a format where preserving a key support or attacker for one extra turn is often worth the item slot.
