Zephyr0811’s winning team was a flexible Charizard sun build with multiple speed modes and a strong late-game physical core. Charizard held Charizardite Y with Blaze, Modest nature, and Heat Wave, Weather Ball, Solar Beam, Protect, giving the team immediate spread Fire pressure and coverage into Water- and Ground-types. Whimsicott supplied the fast mode with Focus Sash, Prankster, Tailwind, Encore, Moonblast, and Protect, letting Charizard, Garchomp, and Basculegion operate from favorable positions.

The team was not locked into Tailwind, though. Farigiraf carried Sitrus Berry, Armor Tail, Psychic, Thunderbolt, Helping Hand, and Trick Room, giving Zephyr0811 a second speed option and a way to amplify damage without relying only on raw speed. Kingambit with Black Glasses, Defiant, Kowtow Cleave, Sucker Punch, Iron Head, and Protect added a direct answer to Intimidate-heavy play and gave the team priority pressure. Garchomp used Life Orb with Rock Slide, Dragon Claw, Earthquake, and Protect, fitting cleanly as a high-damage attacker next to both Tailwind and Trick Room positioning. Basculegion, the tournament’s headline pick, ran Mystic Water, Adaptability, Adamant, Wave Crash, Last Respects, Aqua Jet, and Protect, giving the team a strong Water-type closer with both priority and endgame scaling.

Across the top teams, several patterns stood out. Charizardite Y appeared on both first and second place Charizard builds, with Garchomp also shared by those same two teams. Kingambit was one of the most repeated Pokemon near the top, appearing on the teams of Zephyr0811, bompydes, BadgeBump48614, and FlamingRaccoon, usually leaning on Defiant and Sucker Punch. Sneasler was also common, showing up on bompydes, Ishu05, BadgeBump48614, and FlamingRaccoon, with White Herb Unburden sets in third and fourth place.

Basculegion appeared on three top-eight teams: Zephyr0811’s Mystic Water version, plus Choice Scarf Adaptability versions from Ishu05 and Capravolante97. Rain also had a clear presence through Pelipper on Ishu05 and Capravolante97, while Incineroar remained relevant on Gelskii, bompydes, and BadgeBump48614. Repeated item choices included Focus Sash on Whimsicott, Pelipper, Kingambit, and Sneasler, Black Glasses on Kingambit, and Leftovers on Toxapex, Kommo-o, and Archaludon.

Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for Charizardite Y offense, Kingambit endgames, and Basculegion cleaning lines without assuming every team is using the same speed control.
