Niel’s winning team was a clean example of high-tempo spread pressure backed by defensive utility. Aerodactyl carried Aerodactylite with Unnerve and a Jolly nature, giving the team Rock Slide, Ice Fang, Tailwind, and Wide Guard. That set let the team either accelerate immediately with Tailwind or protect its own side from opposing spread damage while Charizard, Garchomp, and Sylveon applied pressure.
Charizard with Charizardite Y, Blaze, and a Modest nature supplied Heat Wave, Weather Ball, Solar Beam, and Protect, giving the team strong weather-based offense. Garchomp used Life Orb with Rough Skin and a Jolly nature, running Stomping Tantrum, Dragon Claw, Earthquake, and Protect. Together, Charizard and Garchomp forced opponents to respect both special and physical spread lines.
The support and endgame pieces rounded the team out well. Kingambit held Focus Sash with Defiant and an Adamant nature, using Kowtow Cleave, Sucker Punch, Protect, and Iron Head. Sylveon used Fairy Feather with Pixilate and a Modest nature, bringing Hyper Voice, Quick Attack, Hyper Beam, and Detect. Incineroar provided the familiar Intimidate package with Sitrus Berry, Darkest Lariat, Flare Blitz, Fake Out, and Parting Shot. The result was a team that could lead aggressively, pivot with Incineroar, and still close games with priority from Kingambit and Sylveon.
Across the top teams, Charizard was the clearest trend. Every top-four team used Charizard with Charizardite Y, Blaze, Heat Wave, Solar Beam, Weather Ball, and Protect. Garchomp also appeared on all four top teams, usually as a fast physical attacker with Rough Skin and Dragon Claw plus Ground coverage. Aerodactyl was present on three of the top four, commonly providing Tailwind and Rock Slide, though its item varied between Aerodactylite and Focus Sash.
Kingambit was another major fixture, appearing on the top three teams and again at eighth. Focus Sash Kingambit was used by both first and second place, while other lists explored Occa Berry or Black Glasses. Fairy Feather Sylveon also showed up repeatedly among the Charizard-Garchomp-Aerodactyl shells, giving those teams a consistent Pixilate Hyper Voice mode. Farigiraf appeared in second and fourth with Sitrus Berry and Armor Tail, adding Trick Room counterplay and Helping Hand or coverage options.
Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for Charizardite Y offense backed by Garchomp, Aerodactyl speed control, and Kingambit priority.
