2 PokeReplay [GB] 4-1-0 Kingambit, Whimsicott, Basculegion, Garchomp, Charizard, Eternal Flower Floette

4 CreativeMind [US] 4-1-0 Grimmsnarl, Mawile, Staraptor, Archaludon, Sinistcha, Politoed

KayDeeVGC’s winning team leaned on layered physical pressure with several ways to force tempo. Kingambit ran Black Glasses, Defiant, Adamant, and a Protect, Kowtow Cleave, Sucker Punch, Swords Dance set, giving the team a strong late-game option with priority. Sneasler added Fake Out and immediate Fighting- and Poison-type offense with Close Combat and Gunk Shot, while White Herb and Unburden gave it a clear self-contained speed plan. Lycanroc Dusk brought Focus Sash, Tough Claws, Rock Slide, Close Combat, Accelerock, and Protect, making it another fast-paced attacker with priority.

The support choices were also direct. Scovillain carried Scovillainite with Moody and Rage Powder, alongside Protect, Overheat, and Giga Drain, giving the team redirection without giving up offensive coverage. Froslass used Froslassite with Blizzard, Protect, Shadow Ball, and Aurora Veil, adding a defensive layer and special attacking presence. Basculegion rounded out the squad with Life Orb, Adaptability, Wave Crash, Last Respects, Aqua Jet, and Protect, giving KayDeeVGC another priority user and a clear endgame damage threat.

Across the top teams, Kingambit and Basculegion stood out immediately, appearing on both first and second place. PokeReplay’s versions kept the same core identity: Kingambit with Black Glasses, Defiant, Adamant, Kowtow Cleave, Sucker Punch, and Protect, plus Basculegion with Adaptability, Adamant, Wave Crash, Last Respects, Aqua Jet, and Protect, though PokeReplay chose Mystic Water over Life Orb.

Prankster support was another major theme. Whimsicott appeared on PokeReplay and GSCC, both carrying Tailwind, while Grimmsnarl appeared in fourth place with Light Clay, Reflect, Light Screen, and Parting Shot. Farther down the standings, Grimmsnarl was also present on Mirin18, j29reborn, and Snvyy, showing how common Prankster disruption and damage mitigation were among successful teams.

Weather also showed up in several forms. GSCC used Torkoal with Drought next to Hisuian Typhlosion and Whimsicott with Sunny Day. PokeReplay had Charizard with Charizardite Y. CreativeMind used Politoed with Drizzle, while rain structures with Pelipper appeared just outside the top four. Sand was represented by CptAuroOG’s Tyranitar and Excadrill pairing.

Takeaway for ladder players: prioritize teams that can combine protection, priority, and speed control without relying on only one mode.
