| Place | Player | Record | Team |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | zzsachi [ES] | 6-0-0 | Charizard, Venusaur, Archaludon, Grimmsnarl, Raichu, Politoed |
| 2 | MannyMan [BR] | 3-3-0 | Garchomp, Farigiraf, Incineroar, Venusaur, Charizard, Sylveon |
| 3 | Meriwis [CL] | 3-2-0 | Garchomp, Raichu, Sylveon, Farigiraf, Sneasler, Incineroar |
| 4 | LJeezy [US] | 2-3-0 | Charizard, Volcarona, Rillaboom, Torkoal, Indeedee ♀, Incineroar |
zzsachi’s winning team was built around flexible weather pressure and strong defensive support. Charizard with Charizardite Y, Blaze, Modest, and Heat Wave, Weather Ball, Hurricane, Protect gave the team immediate spread damage and weather-scaling offense. Venusaur paired naturally with it, using Focus Sash, Chlorophyll, Sludge Bomb, Sleep Powder, Earth Power, and Protect to threaten both disruption and damage.
The interesting part of the composition is that it did not stop at one weather plan. Politoed brought Mystic Water, Drizzle, Weather Ball, Muddy Water, Ice Beam, and Protect, giving zzsachi another angle into matchups where Charizard’s mode was not ideal. Archaludon with Leftovers, Stamina, Electro Shot, Snarl, Dragon Pulse, and Protect fit that structure well, offering bulk, special pressure, and Snarl utility. Grimmsnarl supplied Light Clay-backed Reflect and Light Screen alongside Spirit Break and Parting Shot, while Raichu with Raichunite X, Lightning Rod, Volt Tackle, Volt Switch, Feint, and Fake Out added speed control through positioning tools rather than a listed speed-control move.
Across the top teams, Charizard was the clearest headline pick. It appeared on three of the top four teams, and all three used Charizardite Y, though LJeezy’s Charizard notably had Solar Power while zzsachi and MannyMan used Blaze. Venusaur also appeared on the top two teams with Focus Sash and Chlorophyll, both carrying Sludge Bomb, Sleep Powder, and Protect.
Incineroar remained a major support piece, showing up on teams ranked second, third, and fourth. MannyMan and Meriwis both used Parting Shot and Fake Out, while LJeezy also had Fake Out and Parting Shot. Farigiraf was another repeated support option in the second and third place teams, both with Sitrus Berry, Armor Tail, Psychic, Trick Room, and Helping Hand.
Garchomp placed second and third, though in very different forms: MannyMan used Choice Scarf with Rough Skin and physical attacks, while Meriwis used Garchompite Z with a special set of Dragon Pulse, Earth Power, Power Gem, and Protect. Raichu also appeared twice in the top three, both with Raichunite X, Lightning Rod, Jolly, Volt Tackle, Volt Switch, and Fake Out.
Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for Charizardite Y cores, but also respect teams that can pivot into alternate weather or layered support instead of relying on one mode.
