Robin_VGC’s winning team was built around layered speed, weather, and board control. Charizard held Charizardite Y with Weather Ball, Heat Wave, Hurricane, and Protect, giving the team a strong special spread attacker that could also take advantage of changing weather conditions. Pelipper added Drizzle, Tailwind, Wide Guard, Hurricane, and Weather Ball, making it both a speed enabler and a defensive tool into spread pressure.
The supporting pieces made the composition harder to pin down. Archaludon with Leftovers, Stamina, Protect, Electro Shot, Dragon Pulse, and Flash Cannon gave the team a durable special attacker that benefited from rain. Venusaur brought Focus Sash, Chlorophyll, Sleep Powder, Sludge Bomb, Leaf Storm, and Protect, threatening disruption while also pressuring Water- and Fairy-types. Grimmsnarl’s Light Clay with Prankster, Reflect, Light Screen, and Parting Shot helped the team play longer games, while Garchomp with Garchompite Z, Rough Skin, Draco Meteor, and Earth Power rounded out the offense with another special attacking angle.
Across the top standings, Incineroar and Rillaboom were the clearest recurring picks. JareMase [AU], Vinnamon [SV], and SoravTheWorld all used both Pokemon, with Fake Out appearing on each of their Rillaboom sets and on each Incineroar set. Parting Shot was also common on Incineroar, appearing on the teams in second, third, and fourth, reinforcing how important positioning was in this event.
Sitrus Berry also showed up repeatedly near the top, appearing on Pelipper for Robin_VGC, Incineroar for JareMase [AU], and Incineroar for SoravTheWorld. Leftovers was another notable item, used by Robin_VGC’s Archaludon, JareMase [AU]’s Primarina, and SoravTheWorld’s Kommo-o. Life Orb appeared on JareMase [AU]’s Gholdengo, Vinnamon [SV]’s Rillaboom, and SoravTheWorld’s Kingambit, giving several teams a direct damage boost option.
The top four also showed a wide range of speed control. Robin_VGC had Pelipper’s Tailwind, JareMase [AU] had Dragonite’s Tailwind, Vinnamon [SV] used Farigiraf with Trick Room, and SoravTheWorld leaned on Alolan Ninetales with Choice Scarf alongside Gengar’s Perish Song pressure. That spread of approaches suggests the format rewarded teams that could either set their preferred pace or disrupt the opponent’s.
Takeaway for ladder players: bring reliable positioning tools, because the best teams here combined Fake Out, Parting Shot, screens, Tailwind, or Trick Room with immediate offensive pressure.
