FINISTERRAE SERIES VGC #4 results recap

FINISTERRAE SERIES VGC #4 was played on 2026-10-11 on Limitless with 18 players in Pokemon Champions Regulation Set M-C. The_Andrw [ES] finished first at 6-2-0, with final round results including the_andrw over roirehh, roirehh over silver_dance_93, and ewithb over jose011.

Place Player Record Team
1 The_Andrw [ES] 6-2-0 Salamence, Excadrill, Tyranitar, Gholdengo, Indeedee, Sneasler
2 MarioFdez [ES] 6-2-0 Salamence, Raichu, Hisuian Arcanine, Rillaboom, Gholdengo, Milotic
3 RoiRehh [ES] 6-1-0 Charizard, Farigiraf, Kingambit, Sylveon, Aerodactyl, Garchomp
4 ewithb 5-2-0 Incineroar, Kingambit, Rillaboom, Sneasler, Delphox, Eternal Flower Floette

The winning team is built around several clear modes rather than one narrow game plan. Salamence with Salamencite, Intimidate, Tailwind, Hyper Voice, Draco Meteor, and Protect gives The_Andrw immediate speed control and spread pressure while still threatening single-target damage. Tyranitar with Tyranitarite and Sand Stream pairs naturally with Excadrill holding Focus Sash and Sand Rush, giving the team a sand option with Rock Slide, Knock Off, Low Kick, High Horsepower, Iron Head, Earthquake, and Protect distributed across the two.

The special offense is just as important. Gholdengo used Life Orb, Good as Gold, Nasty Plot, Make It Rain, Shadow Ball, and Protect, matching the common high-pressure Gholdengo structure seen elsewhere in the event. Indeedee added Choice Scarf, Psychic Surge, and Expanding Force, with Mystical Fire, Shadow Ball, and Dazzling Gleam for coverage. Sneasler rounded out the roster with White Herb, Unburden, Close Combat, Dire Claw, Coaching, and Protect, giving the team another fast physical attacker and a way to support partners through Coaching.

A major trend at the top was the Salamence plus Gholdengo core. Both first and second place used Salamence with Salamencite, Intimidate, Timid nature, Hyper Voice, Draco Meteor, Tailwind, and Protect. Both also used Gholdengo with Life Orb, Good as Gold, Timid nature, Nasty Plot, Make It Rain, Shadow Ball, and Protect. That combination gives teams speed control, spread damage, setup pressure, and strong defensive utility from Intimidate and Good as Gold.

Fake Out and priority support were also common. MarioFdez used Raichu, Hisuian Arcanine, and Rillaboom, while ewithb used Incineroar, Rillaboom, and Sneasler. Rillaboom appeared on multiple successful teams with Miracle Seed, Grassy Surge, Fake Out, Grassy Glide, and Wood Hammer. Kingambit was another repeated threat, appearing on RoiRehh’s Focus Sash set and ewithb’s Black Glasses set, both using Defiant, Kowtow Cleave, and Sucker Punch.

The item spread also shows how players balanced aggression and safety. Focus Sash appeared on Excadrill, Hisuian Arcanine, Kingambit, and Sneasler across the upper standings, while Sitrus Berry supported bulkier utility picks like Farigiraf and Incineroar. Life Orb Gholdengo remained a defining offensive choice.

Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for Salamence plus Gholdengo pressure, and make sure your team has a concrete plan into fast sand, Fake Out pivots, and Defiant attackers.
