Sketch Academy Sunday Regulation M-C Tournament recap and results

The Sketch Academy Sunday Regulation M-C Tournament was a 43-player online Pokemon Champions Regulation Set M-C event on Limitless, played on 2026-11-02. LawrenceVGC [PH] finished first at 7-2-0, with the listed final round results including LawrenceVGC defeating Vinnamon, while Vinnamon defeated Storm2184 and NervoX.

Place Player Record Team
1 LawrenceVGC [PH] 7-2-0 Gengar / Incineroar / Alolan Ninetales / Sneasler / Garchomp / Kingambit
2 Vinnamon [SV] 6-3-0 Basculegion ♀ / Scolipede / Archaludon / Pelipper / Raichu / Sneasler
3 ProfSkarmoryYT [US] 6-2-0 Tyranitar / Gholdengo / Milotic / Excadrill / Sinistcha / Staraptor
4 Storm2184 [US] 5-3-0 Gardevoir / Indeedee ♀ / Garchomp / Archaludon / Pelipper / Golisopod

LawrenceVGC’s winning team leaned on a strong mix of disruption, pressure, and priority. Gengar with Gengarite, Shadow Tag, Substitute, and Protect gave the team a positioning tool that could threaten with Sludge Bomb and Shadow Ball while controlling how opponents traded. That paired naturally with Incineroar, whose Chople Berry, Intimidate, Snarl, Parting Shot, and Fake Out supplied multiple layers of tempo control.

The offensive core had several ways to force action. Sneasler used Focus Sash with Fake Out, Dire Claw, Close Combat, and Protect, giving LawrenceVGC another fast support attacker that could also threaten immediate damage. Garchomp carried Garchompite with Scale Shot, Stomping Tantrum, Rock Slide, and Protect, while Kingambit used Life Orb, Defiant, Kowtow Cleave, Sucker Punch, Swords Dance, and Protect. Together, Garchomp and Kingambit covered different physical angles, with Kingambit also punishing Intimidate lines through Defiant.

Alolan Ninetales was one of the more distinctive pieces on the winning roster. Choice Scarf, Snow Warning, Blizzard, Icy Wind, Freeze-Dry, and Hypnosis gave the team speed interaction, spread pressure, and matchup-specific utility. In a field where several top teams relied on weather or speed-shifting tools, that kind of compression mattered.

Across the top teams, Sneasler stood out as a repeated pick, appearing on the first-place team, Vinnamon’s runner-up team, and NervoX’s fifth-place team. Garchomp also showed up multiple times, including LawrenceVGC, Storm2184, and 138mysx, with different item choices across Garchompite, Choice Scarf, and Life Orb. Kingambit was another recurring physical threat, appearing on LawrenceVGC, NervoX, and 138mysx.

Weather structures were a major theme. Vinnamon and Storm2184 both used Pelipper with Drizzle alongside Archaludon, while NervoX and Fearcobra55 both brought Torkoal with Drought and Charizard with Charizardite Y. Sand also appeared through ProfSkarmoryYT and JurassicJoints, both using Tyranitar with Tyranitarite and Excadrill with Focus Sash.

Item trends were similarly clear. Focus Sash appeared repeatedly on fast or important attackers such as Sneasler, Basculegion ♀, Excadrill, Pelipper, and Kingambit. Life Orb also saw broad use on major damage dealers including Kingambit, Gholdengo, Incineroar, and Garchomp, while Sitrus Berry appeared on support or bulk-oriented picks such as Milotic, Farigiraf, and Wash Rotom.

Ladder takeaway: build with clear answers to Fake Out pressure, weather cores, and Focus Sash attackers, because all three were prominent near the top of this event.
