Pokepal Smackdown #161 (Champions) results recap

Pokepal Smackdown #161 (Champions) was a 45-player online event on Limitless, played on 2026-10-05 under Pokemon Champions Regulation Set M-C. KamikazekidGC finished first at 5-0-0, winning the listed final-round match over QueerCrocodile. The other final-round results were Vietman204 over zachvgc and hawkieisgod over abhigod.

Place Player Record Team
1 KamikazekidGC 5-0-0 Golisopod, Archaludon, Sneasler, Grimmsnarl, Delphox, Pelipper
2 Vietman204 5-0-0 Primarina, Rillaboom, Raichu, Kommo-o, Volcarona, Skarmory
3 QueerCrocodile 4-1-0 Rillaboom, Sneasler, Dragonite, Delphox, Kingambit, Basculegion
4 Noah Banderas 4-1-0 Archaludon, Staraptor, Grimmsnarl, Pelipper, Kingambit, Rillaboom

KamikazekidGC’s winning team combined layered speed control, screens, and multiple high-pressure attackers. Pelipper brought Drizzle and Tailwind with Focus Sash, supporting Archaludon’s Electro Shot while also threatening Weather Ball and Hurricane. Archaludon used Leftovers and Stamina with Electro Shot, Dragon Pulse, Flash Cannon, and Protect, giving the team a durable special attacker that benefits from extended turns.

The support core was straightforward but effective. Grimmsnarl held Light Clay with Prankster, using Reflect, Light Screen, Parting Shot, and Spirit Break to reduce incoming damage and reposition. Sneasler added Fake Out pressure alongside White Herb and Unburden, with Close Combat and Dire Claw giving it immediate offensive presence. The two Mega-style picks, Golisopod with Golisopite and Delphox with Delphoxite, gave the team distinct damage angles: Golisopod used Leech Life, Iron Head, Drill Run, and Protect, while Delphox offered Heat Wave, Nasty Plot, Psychic, and Protect. Overall, the composition could play toward rain-enabled pressure, screen-supported setup, or direct tempo through Fake Out and Parting Shot.

Across the top teams, Rillaboom was one of the clearest recurring picks. It appeared on Vietman204’s second-place team, QueerCrocodile’s third-place team, Noah Banderas’s fourth-place team, and several other high finishes, usually with Grassy Surge and Fake Out plus Grassy Glide. Sneasler was also prominent, appearing on the champion’s team, QueerCrocodile’s team, Claudiusmaximus125’s team, and bryght’s team, with Dire Claw and Close Combat consistently present.

Several item patterns also stood out. Miracle Seed Rillaboom was common near the top, while White Herb Sneasler appeared on the first-, third-, and eighth-place teams. Leftovers showed up on bulky special attackers such as Archaludon, Kommo-o, Milotic, and Primarina. Light Clay Grimmsnarl appeared on both KamikazekidGC’s and Noah Banderas’s teams, pairing screens with Parting Shot and Spirit Break. Pelipper plus Archaludon was shared by first and fourth, though their Pelipper items differed between Focus Sash and Sitrus Berry.

Takeaway for ladder players: prioritize teams that can combine Fake Out, speed control, and defensive positioning without giving up immediate damage.
