| Place | Player | Record | Team |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | AlexVGC [IT] | 6-1-0 | Salamence / Tyranitar / Excadrill / Gholdengo / Milotic / Rillaboom |
| 2 | 5hinny [PE] | 4-3-0 | Golisopod / Gardevoir / Indeedee ♀ / Pelipper / Basculegion / Sneasler |
| 3 | Timmy3057 [AU] | 4-2-0 | Milotic / Sneasler / Rillaboom / Gholdengo / Hydreigon / Raichu |
| 4 | rafa_pokecentral [BR] | 4-2-0 | Rillaboom / Milotic / Gholdengo / Salamence / Raichu / Hisuian Arcanine |
AlexVGC’s winning team combined several clear modes without leaning on only one speed plan. Salamence with Salamencite, Intimidate, Timid, and Tailwind gave the team immediate positioning value, while Hyper Voice and Flamethrower let it stay active after setting speed. Tyranitar with Tyranitarite and Sand Stream paired directly with Excadrill, whose Focus Sash and Sand Rush set made High Horsepower, Iron Head, and Rock Slide much more threatening under sand.
The rest of the team rounded out that pressure with strong independent pieces. Gholdengo used the common Life Orb, Good as Gold, Modest package with Make It Rain, Shadow Ball, Nasty Plot, and Protect, giving AlexVGC a powerful special attacker that could also snowball. Milotic’s Sitrus Berry, Competitive, Calm set brought Scald, Ice Beam, Icy Wind, and Protect, adding both damage and speed control. Rillaboom completed the six with Miracle Seed, Grassy Surge, Wood Hammer, Grassy Glide, Superpower, and Fake Out, giving the team terrain control, priority, and another way to manage board tempo.
Across the top teams, Rillaboom was one of the defining pieces. It appeared on AlexVGC, Timmy3057, rafa_pokecentral, B3N, Ethan159, and Orttega15, most often with Grassy Surge, Fake Out, Grassy Glide, and a damage-boosting or recovery item such as Miracle Seed or Sitrus Berry. Gholdengo was similarly prominent, appearing on five of the top six teams, and every listed Gholdengo used Life Orb with Good as Gold and some combination of Make It Rain, Shadow Ball, Nasty Plot, and Protect.
Milotic also stood out near the top, appearing on all of the top three non-5hinny teams in the top four: AlexVGC, Timmy3057, and rafa_pokecentral. Competitive was consistent across those Milotic sets, though the item choices varied between Sitrus Berry and Leftovers. Raichu with Raichunite Y was another recurring support-offense option, appearing on Timmy3057, rafa_pokecentral, B3N, and Orttega15 with Lightning Rod and access to Fake Out.
The runner-up took a different route with Golisopod, Gardevoir, Indeedee ♀, Pelipper, Basculegion, and Sneasler. That team stacked Psychic Surge support from Indeedee ♀, Trick Room options from both Gardevoir and Indeedee ♀, rain from Pelipper, and fast pressure from Choice Scarf Basculegion and Psychic Seed Sneasler.
Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for Rillaboom plus Life Orb Gholdengo cores, but respect flexible weather and speed-control structures like AlexVGC’s sand, Tailwind, Icy Wind, and Fake Out blend.
