Forblaze’s winning team was built around layered speed control, weather pressure, and strong defensive positioning. Pelipper brought Drizzle with Wacan Berry and a flexible move set of Hurricane, Ice Beam, Wide Guard, and Muddy Water. That supported Swampert with Swampertite, which offered direct physical pressure through Earthquake, Wave Crash, and Rock Slide while still carrying Protect.
Archaludon fit cleanly into that structure with Chople Berry, Stalwart, and Electro Shot alongside Flash Cannon, Dragon Pulse, and Protect. Indeedee ♀ gave the team Psychic Surge, Follow Me, Protect, and Trick Room, letting Forblaze redirect attacks and shift the pace when needed. The second Wide Guard user, Toxapex, made the defensive core especially notable: Leftovers, Regenerator, Toxic, Baneful Bunker, Infestation, and Wide Guard gave the team a clear way to slow games down and punish passive turns.
Golisopod rounded out the roster with Golisopite, Emergency Exit, Adamant, and a setup-oriented kit of Protect, Swords Dance, Iron Head, and Brick Break. In combination, the six gave Forblaze multiple modes rather than relying on a single game plan: rain-enabled offense, Trick Room positioning, redirection, double Wide Guard, and trapping pressure.
Across the top standings, several patterns stood out. Rillaboom appeared on three of the top four teams, with Grassy Surge and Fake Out appearing on each of those sets. Incineroar was present on the second- and third-place teams, both using Intimidate and Fake Out, while Sneasler appeared in third and fourth with Focus Sash on both teams. Kingambit also repeated in third and fourth, each carrying Swords Dance, Sucker Punch, Kowtow Cleave, and Protect.
Toxapex was another important result, appearing on both finalist teams. Forblaze used Calm Leftovers Toxapex, while PokeReplay [GB] used Relaxed Leftovers Toxapex, and both sets included Infestation, Toxic, Wide Guard, and Baneful Bunker. Life Orb also showed up repeatedly near the top, including PokeReplay [GB]’s Rillaboom, Topo [ES]’s Kingambit, and GlowGameplay’s Basculegion.
Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for Fake Out-heavy balance cores, but also respect slower defensive tools like Wide Guard Toxapex and Trick Room support.
