˗ˋˏ❤︎ˎˊ˗ Pomelo Late Night Tour results: Kotori wins

The ˗ˋˏ❤︎ˎˊ˗ Pomelo Late Night Tour was a 31-player online event on Limitless, played in Pokemon Champions Regulation Set M-B. Kotori [JP] finished first at 7-1-0, ahead of NikoNeeto [SE], chris17c [US], and eckzillaz [MX]. The final round included NikoNeeto over eckzillaz, Kotori over chris17c, and chris17c over HDWill.

Place Player Record Team
1 Kotori [JP] 7-1-0 Froslass, Kingambit, Sneasler, Primarina, Tsareena, Aerodactyl
2 NikoNeeto [SE] 5-3-0 Sinistcha, Incineroar, Sneasler, Kingambit, Delphox, Blastoise
3 chris17c [US] 5-2-0 Dragonite, Sneasler, Kingambit, Basculegion, Whimsicott, Eternal Flower Floette
4 eckzillaz [MX] 4-3-0 Charizard, Kingambit, Sylveon, Garchomp, Aerodactyl, Farigiraf

Kotori’s winning team combined fast positioning, priority pressure, and two Mega options that gave the composition multiple modes. Froslass with Froslassite, Blizzard, Shadow Ball, Aurora Veil, and Protect offered immediate special pressure while also supporting the board with Aurora Veil. Aerodactyl with Aerodactylite supplied Tailwind alongside Rock Slide and Dual Wingbeat, giving the team a second speed-control route that did not rely on Trick Room.

The offensive core was straightforward but difficult to trade into cleanly. Life Orb Kingambit with Defiant, Sucker Punch, Kowtow Cleave, Swords Dance, and Protect punished Intimidate and threatened late-game cleanup. Sneasler added Fake Out and Feint pressure with Focus Sash, Poison Touch, Poison Jab, and Close Combat, giving Kotori tools to break Protect sequences and force damage through faster board states. Primarina brought a bulky special angle with Sitrus Berry, Liquid Voice, Hyper Voice, Calm Mind, Moonblast, and Protect, while Tsareena’s Queenly Majesty disrupted priority and carried Wide Lens with Power Whip, Triple Axel, Low Kick, and Protect.

Across the top teams, Kingambit was the defining repeat pick. It appeared on all of the top seven teams, using Life Orb for Kotori and NikoNeeto, Chople Berry for chris17c and kazo, and Focus Sash for eckzillaz and Kazitoru. Sneasler was also prominent in the top three, with both Kotori and NikoNeeto using Focus Sash and Poison Touch, while chris17c used White Herb and Unburden.

Focus Sash was one of the most common items near the top, appearing on Sneasler, Kingambit, Glimmora, Whimsicott, Vivillon, and other teams in the standings. Sitrus Berry also showed up repeatedly on Primarina, Incineroar, Farigiraf, Politoed, and Sinistcha, reinforcing how many teams valued mid-game staying power. Aerodactyl was another notable thread, appearing on Kotori and eckzillaz with Aerodactylite, while Kazitoru used Kings Rock with Tailwind and Wide Guard.

Mega diversity was broad among the top eight, with Froslassite, Aerodactylite, Delphoxite, Blastoisinite, Dragoninite, Floettite, Charizardite Y, Swampertite, and Gengarite all represented. The best-performing teams were not locked into one speed plan either: Tailwind, Trick Room, Aurora Veil, priority blocking, Fake Out, and Parting Shot all appeared among the top finishers.

Takeaway for ladder players: prepare specifically for Kingambit plus fast disruption cores, because the top cut showed that consistent board control into priority endgames is a major Regulation Set M-B pattern.
