Intimidators Champions Challenge #22 REG M-B recap and results

Intimidators Champions Challenge #22 REG M-B was an 83-player online tournament on Limitless, played under Pokemon Champions Regulation Set M-B on 2026-06-30. NMR | Gostzin I [BR] finished first at 9-1-0, with final-round results including phan7oom over nagdasalam3276, gostzin over gabry0800, and gostzin over srroxaskun.

Place Player Record Team
1 NMR | Gostzin I [BR] 9-1-0 Charizard, Mamoswine, Toxapex, Incineroar, Kingambit, Maushold
2 NMR | Tom Baldwin [BR] 8-2-0 Swampert, Pelipper, Archaludon, Sinistcha, Metagross, Grimmsnarl
3 Sugawara [JP] 6-3-0 Sylveon, Incineroar, Garchomp, Venusaur, Farigiraf, Charizard
4 SrRoxasKun [BR] 6-3-0 Incineroar, Sylveon, Garchomp, Charizard, Sneasler, Hydreigon

Gostzin’s winning team was built around Charizard with Charizardite Y, using Heat Wave, Solar Beam, and Weather Ball as its main attacking package with Protect for positioning. The rest of the six gave that offense a lot of practical support. Incineroar with Sitrus Berry, Intimidate, Fake Out, Parting Shot, Flare Blitz, and Darkest Lariat supplied the familiar pivoting and damage control, while Maushold’s Chople Berry, Friend Guard, Follow Me, Super Fang, Protect, and Feint made it easier to keep Charizard and Kingambit in favorable spots.

Kingambit was another major pressure point. Life Orb, Defiant, Sucker Punch, Kowtow Cleave, Low Kick, and Protect gave Gostzin a physical attacker that could punish opposing stat drops and threaten both immediate damage and priority cleanup. Mamoswine added Focus Sash-backed Ice Shard, Icicle Crash, Earthquake, and Protect, giving the team a fast emergency button through priority while also covering relevant Ground- and Ice-type offense. Toxapex was the slower control piece, using Leftovers, Regenerator, Toxic, Wide Guard, Baneful Bunker, and Infestation to stretch games and protect partners from spread pressure.

The top four showed two clear directions. Gostzin, Sugawara, and SrRoxasKun all used Charizard with Charizardite Y, and all three Charizard sets carried Heat Wave, Solar Beam, Weather Ball, and Protect. Incineroar was also present on three of the top four teams, each with Sitrus Berry, Intimidate, Fake Out, Flare Blitz, and Parting Shot somewhere in the set. That combination of Charizardite Y offense plus Incineroar positioning was the defining structure near the top.

There was also a strong physical damage trend. Garchomp appeared on both Sugawara’s and SrRoxasKun’s teams with Life Orb, Rough Skin, Dragon Claw, Earthquake, Rock Slide, and Protect. Sylveon appeared on those same two teams with Fairy Feather, Pixilate, Hyper Voice, Quick Attack, Hyper Beam, and Detect. Outside the top four, Kingambit showed up again on NagdaSalam3276 and Dutchum, both with Black Glasses, Defiant, Kowtow Cleave, Sucker Punch, and Protect.

The runner-up took a different route, pairing Swampert with Swampertite alongside Pelipper with Drizzle and Focus Sash. That team also featured Archaludon with Leftovers and Stamina, Sinistcha with Kasib Berry and Hospitality, Metagross with Metagrossite, and Grimmsnarl with Light Clay and Prankster screens.

Takeaway for ladder players: Charizardite Y teams looked strongest when paired with layered positioning from Incineroar, redirection or protection tools, and a secondary physical closer.
