JurassicJoints won with a sand-centered composition built around Tyranitar and Excadrill, backed by several ways to control positioning and speed. Tyranitar carried Tyranitarite with Sand Stream, while Excadrill used Focus Sash and Sand Rush, giving the team a direct Rock Slide and Earthquake pressure mode. Houndstone added a second Sand Rush user, with Spell Tag, Phantom Force, Will-O-Wisp, Last Respects, and Protect giving the team another sand payoff that could pressure late-game board states.
The rest of the team gave JurassicJoints more flexibility than a simple sand offense. Hydreigon used Choice Scarf with Levitate and a Modest nature, carrying Heat Wave, Snarl, Draco Meteor, and Dark Pulse. That set gave the team immediate special damage and Snarl utility. Wash Rotom provided Sitrus Berry, Levitate, Thunderbolt, Will-O-Wisp, Protect, and Hydro Pump, giving the team another burn option and a Water-type attack without being vulnerable to Earthquake.
