Morfhious’s winning team was built around layered control rather than a single linear mode. Gengar held Gengarite with Curse Body and carried Substitute, Shadow Ball, Perish Song, and Protect, giving the team a clear endgame plan alongside defensive positioning. Incineroar and Rillaboom supplied the familiar double Fake Out structure, with Incineroar adding Intimidate and Parting Shot while Rillaboom brought Grassy Surge, Grassy Glide, and U-turn.
The support package was especially important. Vivillon used Focus Sash with Compound Eyes and the combination of Sleep Powder, Hurricane, Rage Powder, and Protect, giving Morfhious disruption and redirection in one slot. Kommo-o, holding Leftovers with Bulletproof, offered a setup-oriented threat through Clanging Scales, Clangorous Soul, Aura Sphere, and Protect. Froslass rounded out the team with Froslassite, Cursed Body, Blizzard, Aurora Veil, Shadow Ball, and Protect, adding both spread pressure and a defensive screen option.
Across the top teams, Incineroar remained a defining presence. It appeared on both first and second, and LawrenceVGC also used it in third. Chople Berry was the item of choice on all three Incineroar sets in the top 3, although the natures and move choices differed: Morfhious used Sassy with Protect, Dexter45 used Brave with Throat Chop, and LawrenceVGC used Careful with Snarl.
Gengar was another key standout, appearing on the first- and third-place teams with Gengarite. Morfhious used Curse Body and Perish Song, while LawrenceVGC used Shadow Tag with Sludge Bomb, Shadow Ball, Substitute, and Protect. That contrast shows how the same Pokemon and item slot supported different game plans.
The top 4 also showed repeated reliance on Fake Out and priority. Incineroar, Rillaboom, Sneasler, and Raichu all carried Fake Out on top-performing teams, while Kingambit appeared on both third and fourth with Sucker Punch. Primarina and Farigiraf were shared by Dexter45 and SpicyPastaaa, with both Farigiraf sets using Sitrus Berry, Armor Tail, Helping Hand, and Trick Room. Life Orb appeared on Dexter45’s Rillaboom, LawrenceVGC’s Kingambit, and SpicyPastaaa’s Primarina.
Takeaway for ladder players: build with a clear speed-control or positioning plan, because the top teams leaned heavily on Fake Out, redirection, Trick Room, and strong protected setup options.
