walaye’s winning team was built around layered speed control and Psychic terrain pressure. Indeedee ♀ supplied Psychic Surge, Follow Me, Helping Hand, and Trick Room, giving the team both positioning support and a way to enable slower attackers. Reuniclus added another Trick Room option while carrying Twisted Spoon and Expanding Force, making it a direct beneficiary of the same terrain plan.
The most distinctive part of the champion’s six was the Fighting/Dark pressure from Grapploct and Malamar. Grapploct used Life Orb, Technician, Brave nature, and a set of Storm Throw, Payback, Detect, and Octolock, giving walaye a physical attacker that could threaten through Storm Throw while also bringing Octolock utility. Malamar, with Malamarite and Contrary, carried Superpower, Knock Off, Protect, and Trick Room. That set gave the team another Trick Room setter while also offering item disruption through Knock Off and direct boosting pressure through Contrary Superpower.
Gardevoir was the team’s other major special attacker, using Gardevoirite, Trace, Modest nature, Expanding Force, Hyper Voice, Protect, and Calm Mind. Alongside Indeedee ♀ and Reuniclus, it reinforced the Psychic offense while still having Hyper Voice as a spread option. Basculegion rounded out the team with Choice Scarf, Adaptability, Jolly nature, Aqua Jet, Flip Turn, Last Respects, and Wave Crash, giving walaye a faster mode that did not rely on Trick Room.
Across the top cut, Gardevoir was a clear standout. It appeared on the teams of walaye, Ariesxvgc, and BoolinLefa, each time with Gardevoirite, Trace, Modest nature, and some combination of Expanding Force, Hyper Voice, Protect, and Trick Room or Calm Mind. Indeedee ♀ also had a strong showing near the top, appearing on both finalist teams at first and second, and again in the fifth and eighth place teams. Psychic Seed was used on both top-two Indeedee ♀ sets.
Life Orb appeared on walaye’s Grapploct and BoolinLefa’s Mamoswine, while Focus Sash showed up on Ariesxvgc’s Heat Rotom, Gus_0Z’s Pelipper, and BoolinLefa’s Whimsicott. Gyaradosite Gyarados was shared by Ariesxvgc and BoolinLefa with the same Intimidate, Adamant, Protect, Waterfall, Crunch, and Dragon Dance structure. Sneasler also remained relevant just outside the top two, appearing on Gus_0Z, rinp, and thegreatestdad.
Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for Psychic Surge plus Expanding Force cores, but do not ignore flexible teams that can switch between Trick Room and faster Choice Scarf or Tailwind modes.
