Finnick’s winning team is built around strong positioning tools and multiple ways to convert free turns into pressure. Garchomp was a Modest Garchompite Z set with Rough Skin, using Earth Power, Power Gem, Dragon Pulse, and Protect. That gives the team a special attacking angle from a Pokemon often prepared for differently, while still keeping standard Protect flexibility.
The support core is very direct. Rillaboom provided Grassy Surge with Miracle Seed, Grassy Glide, Wood Hammer, U-turn, and Fake Out, while Incineroar carried Sitrus Berry, Intimidate, Flare Blitz, Throat Chop, Fake Out, and Parting Shot. Raichu added a third Fake Out user with Raichunite Y, Static, Protect, Zap Cannon, and Focus Blast. Between Fake Out, U-turn, Parting Shot, and Protect, the team had plenty of ways to manage tempo.
Volcarona and Gholdengo gave Finnick strong scaling options. Volcarona used Grassy Seed with Flame Body, Fiery Dance, Struggle Bug, Quiver Dance, and Giga Drain, fitting naturally beside Rillaboom’s terrain. Gholdengo rounded out the team with Life Orb, Good as Gold, Make It Rain, Shadow Ball, Nasty Plot, and Protect, giving the composition a clear late-game damage plan if it found room to boost.
Across the top teams, Incineroar and Rillaboom were the defining support pieces. Incineroar appeared on six of the listed top eight teams, most commonly with Intimidate, Fake Out, and Parting Shot. Rillaboom appeared on five of the listed top eight, with Grassy Surge and Fake Out repeatedly supporting both offense and positioning. Sneasler also stood out, appearing on Silverland, Lorenzo B, Jymann, and WestyLiam teams with a mix of Focus Sash, Grassy Seed, White Herb, and Poison Touch or Unburden sets.
Item trends were similarly concentrated. Sitrus Berry was frequent, especially on Incineroar, while Miracle Seed Rillaboom appeared on Finnick, Lorenzo B, GielBakker, and bobby02. Focus Sash showed up on Sneasler, Whimsicott, and Kingambit, reflecting how valuable guaranteed action remained for support or offensive pieces.
Takeaway for ladder players: build with clear positioning tools, because Fake Out, pivoting, and terrain support defined many of the best teams here.
