Road to Area 229 #7 results: MaykeyJazz wins Regulation Set M-C

Road to Area 229 #7 was a 14-player online Pokemon Champions event on Limitless, played under Regulation Set M-C on 2026-10-04. MaykeyJazz finished first at 5-1-0, with the final round including pyrose44 vs maykeyjazz, jotaalee vs someoneoffical, and zachk052510 vs someoneoffical.

Place	Player	Record	Team
1	MaykeyJazz	5-1-0	Salamence, Sneasler, Indeedee, Tyranitar, Corviknight, Excadrill
2	Zach K	5-1-0	Eternal Flower Floette, Incineroar, Rillaboom, Raichu, Gholdengo, Sneasler
3	Pyrose44	4-1-0	Lucario, Incineroar, Rillaboom, Indeedee ♀, Hisuian Arcanine, Basculegion
4	SomeoneOffical	3-2-0	Raichu, Garchomp, Hisuian Arcanine, Rillaboom, Gholdengo, Sneasler

MaykeyJazz’s winning team combined two clear modes: sand pressure and Psychic Terrain support. Tyranitar with Tyranitarite and Sand Stream paired directly with Excadrill holding Focus Sash and Sand Rush, giving the team a fast Rock Slide and High Horsepower option alongside Tyranitar’s Rock Slide, Knock Off, and Low Kick. Salamence with Salamencite, Intimidate, Hyper Voice, Flamethrower, Draco Meteor, and Protect added a second major attacker that did not depend on sand to function.

The support structure was just as important. Indeedee used Choice Scarf with Psychic Surge, Expanding Force, Mystical Fire, Trick, and Protect, giving the team terrain control and a way to pressure immediately. Corviknight carried Psychic Seed, Mirror Armor, Bulk Up, Roost, Brave Bird, and Power Trip, making it the team’s long-game piece under Psychic Terrain. Sneasler rounded out the six with White Herb, Unburden, Dire Claw, Close Combat, Coaching, and Protect. That set gave MaykeyJazz another fast threat while also providing Coaching support for physical partners.

The top cut showed several repeated ideas. Sneasler appeared on the teams of MaykeyJazz, Zach K, and SomeoneOffical, with both Zach K and SomeoneOffical using Grassy Seed plus Unburden alongside Rillaboom. Rillaboom itself was on the second-, third-, and fourth-place teams, all carrying Grassy Surge and Grassy Glide. Incineroar remained present near the top as well, appearing on Zach K’s and Pyrose44’s teams with Intimidate, Fake Out, and Parting Shot.

Raichu was another repeated pick, with both Zach K and SomeoneOffical using Raichunite Y, Lightning Rod, Timid, Zap Cannon, Focus Blast, and Protect. Gholdengo appeared on both of those same teams, though Zach K used Leftovers with Nasty Plot while SomeoneOffical used Choice Scarf. Hisuian Arcanine also showed up twice in the top four, both times with Focus Sash, Rock Head, Jolly, Head Smash, Flare Blitz, and Protect.

One extra note from the standings: JotaaLee in fifth used the same six Pokemon, items, abilities, natures, and moves as MaykeyJazz, reinforcing how strong the Salamence, Sneasler, Indeedee, Tyranitar, Corviknight, Excadrill structure was at this event.

Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for Sneasler speed boosts, Rillaboom terrain cores, and sand teams that can pivot between immediate offense and Bulk Up Corviknight endgames.
