CarsonLame’s winning team was built around multiple layers of control with enough immediate damage to close games once positioning was established. Garchomp held Garchompite Z with Rough Skin and a special attacking set of Dragon Pulse, Earth Power, Power Gem, and Protect, giving the team broad coverage without relying on physical damage. Raichu added Raichunite Y, Lightning Rod, Fake Out, Zap Cannon, Focus Blast, and Protect, providing another fast disruption piece while also changing how opponents could approach Electric-type pressure.
The support core was straightforward and effective. Incineroar brought Sitrus Berry, Intimidate, Fake Out, Flare Blitz, Throat Chop, and Parting Shot, giving CarsonLame repeated chances to reduce damage and reset board states. Volcarona was a key differentiator: Rocky Helmet with Flame Body, Overheat, Struggle Bug, Rage Powder, and Tailwind gave the team redirection, speed control, and special damage mitigation in one slot. Rillaboom supplied Grassy Surge, Miracle Seed-boosted Grassy Glide, Wood Hammer, High Horsepower, and Protect. Gholdengo rounded out the six with Life Orb, Good as Gold, Make It Rain, Shadow Ball, Nasty Plot, and Protect, giving the team a clear snowball threat when supported by Fake Out, Rage Powder, or Parting Shot.
Across the top teams, Rillaboom was the biggest constant. It appeared on each of the top four teams, and also on IMPDamato and breadknifetwo’s teams in the listed standings. Miracle Seed was especially common on Rillaboom for CarsonLame, Viophire, enrivgc, and IMPDamato, while PokeOpposition and breadknifetwo used Sitrus Berry instead.
Incineroar and Gholdengo also defined the upper cut. Incineroar appeared on CarsonLame, Viophire, enrivgc, dulceyy, and LawrenceVGC, almost always carrying Sitrus Berry with Intimidate and Parting Shot. Gholdengo appeared on CarsonLame, Viophire, enrivgc, dulceyy, and IMPDamato, and every listed Gholdengo used Life Orb, Good as Gold, Make It Rain, Shadow Ball, Nasty Plot, and Protect.
Sneasler was another recurring offensive support pick, showing up on PokeOpposition, enrivgc, IMPDamato, and breadknifetwo, usually paired with Unburden and Fighting-type pressure from Close Combat. The event also showed a wide spread of major centerpiece items: Garchompite Z, Raichunite Y, Baxcalibrite, Froslassite, Charizardite X, Floettite, Dragoninite, Salamencite, Swampertite, and Golisopite all appeared in the listed top teams.
Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for Rillaboom plus Incineroar plus Life Orb Gholdengo cores, but do not ignore secondary control pieces like Volcarona, Raichu, and Sneasler.
