LuanVGC’s winning team stands out for pairing a heavy Ice core with familiar terrain and pivot tools. Froslass carried Froslassite with Snow Cloak and a Timid set of Blizzard, Shadow Ball, Aurora Veil, and Protect, while Glaceon used Never-Melt Ice, Snow Cloak, and a Modest set of Blizzard, Freeze-Dry, Ice Shard, and Detect. That gives the team direct pressure through repeated Ice damage while still having defensive pacing through Protect, Detect, and Aurora Veil.
The rest of the team supported that pressure with strong board control. Incineroar brought Sitrus Berry, Intimidate, Fake Out, and Parting Shot, giving LuanVGC a standard way to slow opposing damage and reset positions. Rillaboom used Miracle Seed with Grassy Surge, Drum Beating, Grassy Glide, U-turn, and Protect, providing terrain control, priority pressure, and another pivot move. Sneasler’s Grassy Seed and Unburden fit naturally next to Rillaboom, with Dire Claw, Close Combat, Rock Slide, and Protect offering flexible offense. Garchomp rounded out the six with Garchompite Z, Rough Skin, and a Modest special set of Dragon Pulse, Flamethrower, Earth Power, and Protect.
Across the top teams, Rillaboom was the clearest repeated pick. All of the top four used Rillaboom, and each one had Miracle Seed, Grassy Surge, and an Adamant nature. The move choices varied slightly, but Grassy Glide and U-turn or Fake Out-style utility were common themes.
Sneasler was just as prominent, also appearing on every top-four team. LuanVGC, SomeoneOffical, and danchunks7 all used Grassy Seed with Unburden and Adamant, while ProfSkarmoryYT used White Herb with Unburden and Jolly. Dire Claw, Close Combat, Rock Slide, and Protect appeared repeatedly, with ProfSkarmoryYT instead including Gunk Shot and Coaching.
Garchomp was another defining top cut presence, appearing on the top three teams. LuanVGC and SomeoneOffical both used Garchompite Z with Rough Skin and Modest, while ProfSkarmoryYT used Garchompite with Rough Skin and Timid. All three carried Earth Power and Flamethrower, showing how valuable that special coverage was in this event.
There was also a clear secondary trend around Raichu, Gholdengo, and Incineroar. Raichu with Raichunite Y appeared on the third- and fourth-place teams. Gholdengo appeared on the third- and fourth-place teams with Good as Gold and Make It Rain. Incineroar showed up on the winning team and danchunks7’s fourth-place team, both using Intimidate, Fake Out, Flare Blitz, and Parting Shot.
Takeaway for ladder players: Rillaboom plus Sneasler was the most consistent top-four shell, but LuanVGC showed it can be paired with an unconventional Froslass and Glaceon core.
