Regulation M-C Expands Pokémon Champions Roster and Megas
Pokémon Champions Regulation M-C is now the next ruleset to watch, with a new batch of eligible Pokémon, items, and Mega Evolutions entering the format. For competitive players, that means this is not just a small legality update. Any time a regulation adds both roster options and held items, early ladder results can shift quickly as players test unfamiliar cores and punish outdated prep.
The biggest pressure point is likely the Mega slot. In Champions, Mega Evolution is one of the central team-building commitments, so every new Mega option has to be judged against existing staples rather than evaluated in isolation. Expect early experimentation around speed control, bulky setup lines, and offensive leads that can immediately force defensive SP adjustments.
New items may be just as important if they change damage thresholds, survivability, or tempo in doubles. Before locking in teams for Regulation M-C, players should recheck speed tiers, common knockout ranges, and whether older defensive spreads still survive the attacks they were built for.
