MangoLassie’s winning team combined immediate pressure, priority, and flexible speed control. Eternal Flower Floette used Floettite with Flower Veil, Modest, and a Fairy-heavy set of Dazzling Gleam, Moonblast, Calm Mind, and Protect, giving the team a setup option that still threatened spread damage. Salamence carried Salamencite with Intimidate and Tailwind, supporting the team’s speed plan while attacking with Hyper Voice and Flamethrower.
The physical side was built around several direct threats. Kingambit used Chople Berry with Defiant and Adamant, pairing Kowtow Cleave, Sucker Punch, Iron Head, and Protect for strong priority and Dark/Steel coverage. Basculegion was Life Orb Adaptability with Last Respects, Aqua Jet, Protect, and Wave Crash, offering both late-game pressure and priority. Rillaboom added Grassy Surge, Miracle Seed, Fake Out, Grassy Glide, Wood Hammer, and High Horsepower. Sneasler rounded out the six with Focus Sash, Poison Touch, Fake Out, Dire Claw, Close Combat, and Protect.
Across the top teams, Basculegion was one of the clearest signals: it appeared on each of the top three teams, though with different items in Life Orb, Choice Scarf, and Mystic Water. Charizard was also highly represented, appearing on Gotou, Leon000, liamvgc, Stecca, and SandroSSB, always with Charizardite Y in those listed teams. Garchomp appeared repeatedly from third through fifth and again in eighth, while Kingambit showed up on first, third, and fifth.
Speed control was a major shared theme. Tailwind appeared on Salamence, Pelipper, Whimsicott, Aerodactyl, and other top-eight structures, while Trick Room showed up on Indeedee, Farigiraf, and Hatterene teams. Focus Sash was also common, including MangoLassie’s Sneasler, Leon000’s Whimsicott, liamvgc’s Indeedee, Stecca’s Kingambit, Snorlaxpikachu1’s Vivillon, and SandroSSB’s Indeedee.
Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for Basculegion, Charizardite Y teams, and layered speed control before tuning anything else.
