Brendu’s winning team was a flexible setup offense with several ways to control the pace of a game. Sneasler carried Focus Sash with Poison Touch and a Jolly nature, giving the team fast pressure through Close Combat and Poison Jab while also bringing Fake Out and Rock Tomb. Incineroar added the familiar Intimidate, Fake Out, and Parting Shot package, with Sitrus Berry improving its ability to keep cycling.
The central engine was Sinistcha plus Kommo-o. Sinistcha’s Rocky Helmet, Hospitality, Rage Powder, and Trick Room gave Brendu both redirection and a slower mode, while Kommo-o used Leftovers, Soundproof, Protect, Clangorous Soul, Aura Sphere, and Clanging Scales as the main boosting threat. That pairing made the team harder to pin down: opponents had to respect both redirection into setup and a Trick Room option when speed control turned against Brendu.
Kingambit rounded out the physical pressure with Chople Berry, Defiant, Kowtow Cleave, Iron Head, Sucker Punch, and Low Kick. Defiant was especially relevant in a field where Intimidate appeared on Incineroar, Staraptor, and Salamence among the top four. Delphox was the Mega slot, using Delphoxite with Heat Wave, Psychic, Nasty Plot, and Protect to give the roster another special attacking angle.
Across the top teams, rain-adjacent structures were the clearest trend. lucardrgs and NMR | WilsonGorski both used Politoed with Drizzle alongside Golisopod holding Golisopite and Archaludon with Leftovers and Stamina. Igi2408 also brought Pelipper, Golisopod, and Archaludon in the top eight, while VascoAnime used Politoed, Golisopod, and Archaludon. Electro Shot Archaludon was a repeated threat on those teams, and Golisopod with Golisopite appeared frequently near the top.
Rillaboom was another major presence, appearing on the third, fourth, sixth, seventh, and eighth place teams, usually with Miracle Seed, Grassy Surge, Grassy Glide, and Fake Out. Sitrus Berry also showed up repeatedly on important support or utility Pokemon, including Incineroar, Farigiraf, Annihilape, Milotic, Politoed, and Volcarona across the listed standings.
Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for Golisopod plus Archaludon rain cores, but do not ignore flexible setup teams that can pivot between Fake Out pressure, redirection, and Trick Room.
