Evan_santos’ winning team combined immediate pressure with multiple layers of control. Staraptor with Staraptite and Intimidate gave the team a strong physical damage piece with Brave Bird and Close Combat, while also having Roost and Protect to avoid being purely one-dimensional. Incineroar added a second Intimidate user plus Fake Out and Parting Shot, giving the team reliable ways to slow opposing attackers and create safer turns for setup or positioning.
Whimsicott was the main speed-control piece, carrying Focus Sash, Prankster, Tailwind, Encore, Charm, and Moonblast. That set supports both offensive pushes and disruption, especially alongside attackers that appreciate controlled board states. Dragapult brought Life Orb special offense with Draco Meteor and Shadow Ball, while Will-O-Wisp added another way to punish physical attackers. Gholdengo supplied a major payoff option with Metal Coat, Good as Gold, Make It Rain, Shadow Ball, Nasty Plot, and Protect. Glimmora rounded out the team with Glimmoranite, Toxic Debris, Sludge Bomb, Power Gem, Earth Power, and Spiky Shield, giving Evan_santos another special attacker with broad coverage and defensive utility.
Across the top cut of the standings, several patterns were clear. Incineroar appeared on three of the top six teams, with Evan_santos, daikyh, birdytrap, and Miguelinho all using it in the listed top eight. Rillaboom was also heavily represented, appearing on KingRoman, daikyh, birdytrap, and Miguelinho, and often paired with Grassy Glide, Fake Out, and Grassy Surge. Sneasler was one of the most common offensive picks, appearing on Onemagician4496, daikyh, birdytrap, pedrodinhani, and Nodusmanic, with Psychic Seed or Grassy Seed supporting Unburden sets.
Gholdengo remained a key special attacker, appearing on Evan_santos, KingRoman, and Miguelinho, all with Good as Gold and Make It Rain. Gengarite Gengar showed up on Onemagician4496, daikyh, and Nodusmanic, while Raichunite Y Raichu appeared on KingRoman, birdytrap, and Miguelinho with Lightning Rod and Fake Out. The Psychic Surge package was also present through Indeedee ♀ on Onemagician4496, pedrodinhani, and Nodusmanic, frequently enabling Sneasler with Psychic Seed and supporting partners with Follow Me, Helping Hand, and Trick Room.
Takeaway for ladder players: build with a clear plan for Fake Out pressure, Intimidate cycling, Unburden Sneasler, and Gholdengo before queuing into Regulation Set M-C.
