Pokemon Champions @ The Cafe #6 results: Jonathan A finishes 6-0

Pokemon Champions @ The Cafe #6 was a 19-player online event on Limitless, played in Pokemon Champions Regulation Set M-C on 2026-10-01. The final round listing had eddieboii vs rainpelt103, with rainpelt103 taking the win, while the final standings were topped by Jonathan A [US] at 6-0-0.

Place Player Record Team
1 Jonathan A [US] 6-0-0 Salamence / Raichu / Rillaboom / Hisuian Arcanine / Gholdengo / Milotic
2 Eduardo M [US] 5-1-0 Milotic / Raichu / Ceruledge / Staraptor / Gholdengo / Rillaboom
3 AstraCA [US] 3-2-0 Staraptor / Raichu / Gholdengo / Rillaboom / Hisuian Arcanine / Primarina
4 The_Milkman 3-2-0 Indeedee / Gliscor / Kingambit / Charizard / Annihilape / Venusaur

Jonathan A’s winning team leaned on a very direct balance structure: speed control, Fake Out pressure, strong spread damage, and multiple ways to punish positioning mistakes. Salamence with Salamencite, Intimidate, Timid, Hyper Voice, Draco Meteor, Tailwind, and Protect gave the team a fast Tailwind mode while still threatening meaningful damage. Raichu with Raichunite Y, Lightning Rod, Fake Out, Zap Cannon, Focus Blast, and Protect added immediate tempo and Electric redirection, making it easier for partners to set up or attack safely.

The Rillaboom slot was the standard Miracle Seed, Grassy Surge, Adamant package with Fake Out, Wood Hammer, Grassy Glide, and High Horsepower. That gave Jonathan A both priority damage and terrain control. Hisuian Arcanine with Focus Sash, Rock Head, Flare Blitz, Head Smash, Extreme Speed, and Protect added a high-pressure physical attacker that could trade aggressively. Gholdengo with Life Orb, Good as Gold, Modest, Make It Rain, Shadow Ball, Nasty Plot, and Protect was the main special damage engine, while Milotic with Leftovers, Competitive, Modest, Scald, Ice Beam, Haze, and Protect rounded out the team with anti-Intimidate pressure and Haze utility.

Across the top teams, the clearest trend was the repeated Raichu / Rillaboom / Gholdengo core. Jonathan A, Eduardo M, and AstraCA all used Raichu with Raichunite Y and Lightning Rod, Gholdengo with Life Orb and Good as Gold, and Rillaboom with Grassy Surge. Those three teams also shared very similar Gholdengo movesets built around Nasty Plot, Make It Rain, Shadow Ball, and Protect, showing how reliable that offensive package was in this event.

Milotic also stood out near the top. Jonathan A used Leftovers with Scald, Ice Beam, Haze, and Protect, while Eduardo M used Sitrus Berry with Muddy Water, Coil, Hypnosis, and Recover. Both were Competitive sets, giving teams a way to pressure opposing Intimidate users. Hisuian Arcanine appeared on both first and third with Focus Sash and Rock Head, while Staraptor with Staraptite and Intimidate appeared on both second and third as a Tailwind attacker.

The_Milkman’s fourth-place team broke from the most common top-three shell, using Indeedee, Gliscor, Kingambit, Charizard, Annihilape, and Venusaur instead. That team combined Psychic Surge, Tailwind, sun pressure from Charizard, and Chlorophyll Venusaur, giving the top four some meaningful archetype variety despite the repeated core above it.

Takeaway for ladder players: the Raichu / Rillaboom / Gholdengo core looks like a strong Regulation Set M-C starting point, especially when paired with reliable speed control and Intimidate counterplay.
