KMMULLER2020’s winning team combined familiar positional tools with several direct attacking threats. Salamence held Salamencite with Intimidate and carried Protect, Tailwind, Draco Meteor, and Hyper Voice, giving the team both speed control and immediate spread damage. Incineroar and Rillaboom formed the main support backbone: both had Fake Out, Incineroar added Parting Shot, and Rillaboom brought Grassy Surge with Miracle Seed-boosted Wood Hammer and Grassy Glide.
The rest of the team leaned into pressure. Gholdengo with Life Orb and Good as Gold had Protect, Make It Rain, Shadow Ball, and Power Gem, making it a strong special attacker that could threaten multiple targets. Lucario used Lucarionite Z with Inner Focus, Detect, Nasty Plot, Aura Sphere, and Flash Cannon, giving the team another setup route. Garchomp rounded out the six with Leftovers, Rough Skin, Protect, Swords Dance, Dragon Claw, and Stomping Tantrum, offering a physical win condition that could take advantage of turns created by Fake Out, Intimidate, and Tailwind.
Across the top teams, Salamence was a major presence at the top of the standings, appearing on both first and second place with Salamencite, Intimidate, Timid, Tailwind, Hyper Voice, and Draco Meteor. Rillaboom was also one of the clearest trends, appearing on first, third, fifth, seventh, and eighth place teams, with Miracle Seed used by KMMULLER2020, BlazeKick, systemsolo, and Zach K. Incineroar remained a common glue pick, showing up on first, fourth, and fifth, each time with Intimidate and Fake Out.
Several other patterns stood out. Gholdengo appeared on first and third with Make It Rain, Shadow Ball, Power Gem, and Protect. Golisopod appeared on second and third with Golisopite, Swords Dance, Protect, and Leech Life. Focus Sash was spread across different roles, including Gholdengo, Sneasler, Indeedee ♀, Kingambit, and Hisuian Arcanine among the listed teams. Speed control was also everywhere: Tailwind showed up on Salamence, Pelipper, and Dragonite, while Trick Room appeared on Gallade, Farigiraf, Sinistcha, Gardevoir, and Indeedee ♀ across the standings.
Takeaway for ladder players: build with both speed control and positioning in mind, because the top teams consistently paired Tailwind or Trick Room with Fake Out, Intimidate, or redirection-style support.
