Sky Pillar Saturday Showdown S8 #10 results recap

Sky Pillar Saturday Showdown S8 #10 was a 26-player online event on Limitless, played in Pokemon Champions Regulation Set M-B on 2026-07-11. The final round results included speshadow over tristran, choker over ceodamsen, and minymudkip over choker, with MinyMudkip [VN] finishing first at 7-1-0.

Place Player Record Team
1 MinyMudkip [VN] 7-1-0 Staraptor, Tyranitar, Gholdengo, Sinistcha, Milotic, Excadrill
2 Sở Tâm [VN] 6-2-0 Pelipper, Archaludon, Basculegion, Dragonite, Metagross, Sableye
3 SpeShadow [VN] 6-1-0 Tyranitar, Excadrill, Milotic, Sinistcha, Staraptor, Gholdengo
4 Nghi Xu [VN] 5-2-0 Metagross, Aerodactyl, Incineroar, Garchomp, Sylveon, Charizard

MinyMudkip’s winning team was built around a clean sand mode with Tyranitar and Excadrill. Tyranitar used Tyranitarite with Sand Stream, giving Excadrill’s Focus Sash Sand Rush set the speed control it wants while also pressuring with Rock Slide, Knock Off, and Low Kick. Excadrill’s High Horsepower, Iron Head, and Rock Slide gave the team direct physical pressure without needing much setup.

The rest of the composition gave that core several ways to avoid becoming one-dimensional. Staraptor carried Staraptite, Intimidate, Tailwind, Close Combat, Brave Bird, and Protect, adding both speed control and immediate damage. Gholdengo with Life Orb, Good as Gold, Make It Rain, Shadow Ball, Nasty Plot, and Protect served as the main special attacker and a strong payoff option if opponents gave it space. Sinistcha provided Hospitality support, Rage Powder, Trick Room, Matcha Gotcha, and Protect with Sitrus Berry, giving the team both redirection and an alternate speed mode. Milotic rounded things out with Leftovers, Competitive, Muddy Water, Coil, Hypnosis, and Recover, offering a slower win condition that could punish Intimidate-heavy positioning.

The most notable trend near the top was how closely the first- and third-place teams overlapped. MinyMudkip and SpeShadow both used Tyranitar, Excadrill, Milotic, Sinistcha, Staraptor, and Gholdengo, though with different details such as Tyranitar running Adamant with Low Kick for MinyMudkip and Jolly with Dragon Dance for SpeShadow. Their shared structure suggests that Tyranitarite sand plus Staraptite pressure, Life Orb Gholdengo, and Sinistcha support was one of the defining shells of this event.

Weather was also prominent outside the winning team. Sở Tâm’s second-place team used Pelipper with Drizzle alongside Archaludon, Basculegion, Dragonite, Metagross, and Sableye, including Electro Shot Archaludon and Swift Swim Basculegion. Nghi Xu’s fourth-place team leaned on Charizard with Charizardite Y, supported by Aerodactyl, Metagross, Incineroar, Garchomp, and Sylveon. Across the top 4, Focus Sash appeared on Excadrill, Pelipper, and Aerodactyl, while Life Orb showed up on Gholdengo, Basculegion, and Garchomp.

Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for multiple weather modes, especially Tyranitar plus Excadrill sand backed by redirection and flexible speed control.
