heisenberg81’s winning team was built around layered durability and flexible tempo control. Grimmsnarl supplied Light Screen and Reflect with Light Clay, plus Spirit Break and Parting Shot, giving the rest of the team more room to set up or cycle defensively. Metagross carried Metagrossite with Clear Body, using Body Press, Cosmic Power, Rest, and Iron Head as the main long-game centerpiece. Toxapex added another grind-focused slot with Leftovers, Regenerator, Stockpile, Toxic, Infestation, and Recover.
The support pieces gave the team multiple ways to stabilize. Sinistcha brought Hospitality with Sitrus Berry, Trick Room, Matcha Gotcha, Life Dew, and Rage Powder, supporting both positioning and recovery. Staraptor used Staraptite, Intimidate, and a Careful nature with Brave Bird, Close Combat, Protect, and Roost, giving the team another bulky pivot with direct pressure. Basculegion rounded out the six with Focus Sash, Adaptability, Wave Crash, Last Respects, Aqua Jet, and Protect, providing a more immediate attacking threat alongside the slower defensive structure.
Across the top standings, Basculegion was one of the clearest recurring picks. It appeared on the champion’s team, on both second and fourth place as Basculegion ♀, and again on Prabulu’s sixth-place team. Focus Sash was also prominent, appearing on heisenberg81’s Basculegion, JAasesin15’s Basculegion ♀, Zenius101’s Whimsicott, CZ2128’s Basculegion ♀, Red_Dolch’s Indeedee, Prabulu’s Whimsicott, Georgktty’s Hisuian Arcanine, and several other listed teams.
The second- and fourth-place teams showed the most direct overlap. JAasesin15 and CZ2128 both used Raichu, Sneasler, Basculegion ♀, Archaludon, Pelipper, and Golisopod, with shared items including Damp Rock on Pelipper, Leftovers on Archaludon, Focus Sash on Basculegion ♀, and Golisopite on Golisopod. Their move choices were also highly similar, especially on Pelipper, Archaludon, and Basculegion ♀.
Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for Focus Sash Basculegion and bulky screen-supported structures when building for Regulation Set M-C.
