Place Player Record Team
1 AndruApple [MX] 7-1-0 Metagross, Glimmora, Talonflame, Wash Rotom, Tsareena, Krookodile
2 sheepie [AU] 6-2-0 Lucario, Talonflame, Diggersby, Chandelure, Clefable, Wash Rotom
3 Ev_Evan 4-3-0 Mimikyu, Scrafty, Tsareena, Torkoal, Pyroar, Pawmot
4 Axol [BR] 4-3-0 Mawile, Oranguru, Araquanid, Maushold, Hisuian Typhlosion, Torkoal

AndruApple’s winning team was built around two mega threats, Metagross with Metagrossite and Glimmora with Glimmoranite, supported by a fast-paced utility core. Metagross brought Clear Body, a Jolly nature, and direct coverage in Iron Head, Psychic Fangs, Stomping Tantrum, and Protect. Glimmora added Toxic Debris with Modest Sludge Bomb, Power Gem, Earth Power, and Spiky Shield, giving the team another strong special attacker that could punish contact and positioning.

The support structure was straightforward and effective. Talonflame used Sharp Beak with Gale Wings, Tailwind, Brave Bird, Flare Blitz, and Protect, giving AndruApple speed control without sacrificing immediate damage. Wash Rotom carried Sitrus Berry, Levitate, Hydro Pump, Thunderbolt, Will-O-Wisp, and Protect, covering both offensive pressure and physical disruption. Tsareena’s Focus Sash and Queenly Majesty helped protect the team’s positioning while offering Power Whip, Triple Axel, Taunt, and Protect. Krookodile rounded things out with Life Orb, Intimidate, Earthquake, Knock Off, High Horsepower, and Protect, adding both damage and board control.

The runner-up team from sheepie shared several important ideas with the winner. Talonflame with Sharp Beak and Gale Wings appeared again, this time with Tailwind, Protect, Taunt, and Acrobatics. Wash Rotom also appeared again, holding Sitrus Berry with Nasty Plot, Thunderbolt, Hydro Pump, and Protect. sheepie paired those staples with Lucario holding Lucarionite Z, Chandelure with Chandelurite, Life Orb Diggersby, and a Rocky Helmet Clefable using Follow Me, Moonblast, Helping Hand, and Life Dew.

Across the top cut, speed control and redirection stood out. Talonflame appeared on both finalist teams, while Trick Room appeared on Ev_Evan’s Mimikyu and Axol’s Oranguru. Follow Me showed up on sheepie’s Clefable and Axol’s Maushold. Torkoal with Charcoal and Drought appeared on both the third- and fourth-place teams, each carrying Eruption and Earth Power. Life Orb was also common among top teams, appearing on AndruApple’s Krookodile, sheepie’s Diggersby, and Axol’s Araquanid.

Takeaway for ladder players: build with a clear speed plan, because the top teams leaned heavily on Tailwind, Trick Room, or both to make their damage stick.
