Place Player Record Team
1 ggttmmhh [US] 8-1-0 Hippowdon / Staraptor / Whimsicott / Glimmora / Armarouge / Houndstone
2 AndreVGC [IT] 7-2-0 Golisopod / Raichu / Pelipper / Sneasler / Archaludon / Basculegion ♀
3 AngelDes5 [FR] 5-3-0 Raichu / Sneasler / Rillaboom / Hisuian Arcanine / Basculegion / Eternal Flower Floette
4 DigioVGC [IT] 5-3-0 Raichu / Eternal Flower Floette / Basculegion / Volcarona / Incineroar / Rillaboom

ggttmmhh’s winning team was built around several overlapping speed and positioning tools. Hippowdon supplied Sand Stream, Leftovers longevity, and a disruptive set of High Horsepower, Stone Edge, Yawn, and Protect. That sand enabled Houndstone with Life Orb, Sand Rush, Adamant nature, and Last Respects, giving the team a clear late-game attacker that could also use Protect, Play Rough, and Substitute.

The rest of the composition gave ggttmmhh multiple ways to control the pace. Whimsicott brought Focus Sash, Prankster, Tailwind, Charm, Moonblast, and Grass Knot, providing immediate speed control and attack mitigation. Armarouge added a slower mode with Trick Room while also carrying Wide Guard, Armor Cannon, Expanding Force, and a Kasib Berry. Staraptor with Staraptite, Intimidate, Protect, Brave Bird, Close Combat, and Roost gave the team another physical presence and an additional Intimidate source. Glimmora with Glimmoranite, Toxic Debris, Spiky Shield, Sludge Bomb, Power Gem, and Earth Power rounded out the six with broad special coverage and defensive utility through Spiky Shield.

A major trend near the top was Raichu. It appeared on the second-, third-, and fourth-place teams, with AndreVGC using Raichunite X while AngelDes5 and DigioVGC both used Raichunite Y. Fake Out was common on all three Raichu sets, and Lightning Rod was present on each.

Basculegion was also heavily represented in the top four. AndreVGC used Basculegion ♀ with Focus Sash and Swift Swim alongside Pelipper and Drizzle, while AngelDes5 and DigioVGC both used Choice Scarf Adaptability Basculegion with Last Respects and Wave Crash. Sneasler showed up on the second- and third-place teams, both with Unburden, while Rillaboom and Eternal Flower Floette were shared by the third- and fourth-place teams. Miracle Seed Rillaboom with Grassy Surge appeared on both AngelDes5’s and DigioVGC’s teams, reinforcing how valuable Fake Out, Grassy Glide, Wood Hammer, and U-turn were in that section of the standings.

The top eight also showed repeated use of Incineroar, Garchomp, Sneasler, Rillaboom, and Farigiraf, suggesting that Regulation Set M-C rewarded teams that could combine Fake Out pressure, speed control, and flexible weather or terrain support.

Takeaway for ladder players: ggttmmhh’s run is a good reminder that a clear endgame plan, backed by multiple speed modes, is often stronger than relying on one form of control.
