Red_Dolch’s winning team was built around strong field control and multiple immediate pressure points. Meowstic ♀ with Meowsticite, Competitive, Fake Out, and Expanding Force paired naturally with Indeedee, whose Psychic Surge enabled Expanding Force while Focus Sash helped it execute Trick Room or Imprison. That gave the team a clear terrain mode while also threatening opposing Trick Room plans.
Sneasler added another terrain-adjacent angle with Psychic Seed and Unburden, carrying Close Combat, Dire Claw, Throat Chop, and Protect. Kingambit was the second major physical attacker, using Chople Berry and Defiant with Sucker Punch, Kowtow Cleave, Iron Head, and Protect. Charizard with Charizardite Y, Solar Power, Heat Wave, Weather Ball, Ancient Power, and Protect supplied the special spread damage and weather-based offense. Kommo-o rounded the six out with Leftovers, Soundproof, Clanging Scales, Aura Sphere, Clangorous Soul, and Protect, giving Red_Dolch another setup-capable special attacker rather than relying only on Charizard.
Across the top teams, Kingambit was one of the clearest standouts. It appeared on each of the top three teams, always with Defiant, and two of those sets used Chople Berry. Sneasler also showed up multiple times in the upper standings, including Red_Dolch’s Psychic Seed version and Aman_VGC’s White Herb version.
Charizard was the other major trend. Charizardite Y appeared on the teams placing 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th, usually alongside Heat Wave, Weather Ball, and Protect. Venusaur also had a strong showing, appearing on Ryuugo, Himanshu G, No_Face, and Imran Khan, with Chlorophyll, Sleep Powder, Sludge Bomb, and Leaf Storm forming a repeated package.
There was also a recognizable weather core clustered in 4th through 6th: Charizard, Pelipper, Archaludon, Venusaur, and Grimmsnarl all appeared together on Himanshu G, No_Face, and Imran Khan. Those teams combined Charizardite Y offense, Pelipper’s Drizzle and Tailwind support, Archaludon with Leftovers and Stamina, and Grimmsnarl with Light Clay screens.
Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for Charizardite Y weather structures, Defiant Kingambit, and Psychic Terrain teams with Indeedee plus Expanding Force pressure.
