Robin_VGC’s winning team combined multiple speed modes around strong spread and weather pressure. Charizard with Charizardite Y, Blaze, and Timid gave the team Heat Wave, Weather Ball, Ancient Power, and Protect, while Leafeon used Focus Sash, Chlorophyll, and Adamant with Solar Blade, Fake Tears, Knock Off, and Detect. That pairing gave the roster a clear sun component without making the rest of the six dependent on it.
The team also had structured control pieces. Farigiraf carried Sitrus Berry, Armor Tail, and Sassy with Psychic, Trick Room, Helping Hand, and Protect, giving Robin_VGC a way to reverse faster teams and block priority interaction through Armor Tail. Aerodactyl with Aerodactylite, Unnerve, and Jolly added Tailwind alongside Rock Slide, Dual Wingbeat, and Protect. Between Trick Room and Tailwind, the team could choose the pace of the game rather than committing to one plan.
The damage profile was rounded out by Sylveon and Garchomp. Sylveon used Fairy Feather, Pixilate, Modest, Hyper Voice, Moonblast, Calm Mind, and Detect, giving the team a Fairy-type spread attacker with setup potential. Garchomp carried Life Orb, Rough Skin, Adamant, Stomping Tantrum, Dragon Claw, Earthquake, and Protect, adding physical Ground- and Dragon-type pressure.
Across the top teams, Charizard was one of the clearest trends. Robin_VGC, 138mysx, and Tachyon112358 all used Charizard with Charizardite Y, and Lattana also brought Charizard with Charizardite Y in sixth. Whimsicott appeared on 138mysx, Tachyon112358, and Lattana, each with Focus Sash, Prankster, Timid, Tailwind, Moonblast, and Protect, with Encore or Sunny Day filling the remaining slot.
Kingambit and Basculegion also formed a repeated package. 138mysx, Tachyon112358, and Lattana all used both Pokemon, and all three Kingambit sets used Chople Berry, Defiant, Adamant, Kowtow Cleave, Sucker Punch, Iron Head, and Low Kick in some order. Basculegion repeatedly carried Adaptability with Wave Crash, Last Respects, Aqua Jet, and Protect, though its item varied between Colbur Berry, Mystic Water, and Life Orb.
Focus Sash was another major item across the upper cut, appearing on Robin_VGC’s Leafeon, multiple Whimsicott, and multiple Sneasler teams lower in the top 8. Life Orb also showed up on Robin_VGC’s Garchomp, 138mysx’s Garchomp, Tachyon112358’s Glimmora, Vinnamon’s Rillaboom, and Lattana’s Basculegion.
Takeaway for ladder players: build with a clear speed plan, but value teams that can switch between Tailwind, Trick Room, and weather pressure.
