jonen’s winning team leaned on layered speed control and flexible defensive tools rather than a single linear mode. Froslass brought Froslassite with Blizzard, Shadow Ball, Aurora Veil, and Protect, giving the team both immediate spread pressure and a way to reduce incoming damage. Whimsicott added Prankster Tailwind, Charm, Encore, and Moonblast, making it the main fast support piece while still carrying Fairy Feather for stronger Moonblast damage.
Staraptor with Staraptite and Intimidate gave the team a physical pressure slot with Brave Bird and Close Combat, while Roost and Protect kept it from being purely disposable. Glimmora carried Focus Sash with Toxic Debris, Sludge Bomb, Power Gem, Earth Power, and Spiky Shield, fitting as a resilient special attacker that could threaten several targets while forcing awkward contact decisions. Armarouge was the team’s slower-mode option, using Sitrus Berry, Flash Fire, Armor Cannon, Psyshock, Wide Guard, and Trick Room. That made jonen less dependent on Tailwind alone. Life Orb Kingambit rounded out the six with Defiant, Kowtow Cleave, Iron Head, Sucker Punch, and Protect, giving the team a strong priority endgame and a punishing answer to opposing stat drops.
Across the top teams, Kingambit was one of the clearest recurring picks, appearing on jonen’s, Vuultur’s, Cactusmax’s, and Sela133VII’s teams. Life Orb was the common item on three of those Kingambit sets, all paired with Defiant and Adamant. Garchomp was also heavily represented, showing up on Vuultur, IdoLazer, Gioppy, failandimprove, and Sela133VII with several item choices including Garchompite, Choice Scarf, Garchompite Z, and Life Orb.
Charizard was another major top-eight trend, appearing on IdoLazer, Gioppy, failandimprove, and Sela133VII, always with Charizardite Y and Blaze in the provided teams. The Fire support core around Incineroar also remained prominent, with Vuultur, Cactusmax, Gioppy, and failandimprove all using it. Focus Sash, Sitrus Berry, Life Orb, and Fairy Feather were repeatedly used across top-eight teams, while Floettite appeared on Vuultur’s Eternal Flower Floette, IdoLazer’s Floette, and Cactusmax’s Eternal Flower Floette.
Takeaway for ladder players: bring multiple speed plans and respect Life Orb Kingambit, Garchomp, Charizardite Y, and bulky support cores when preparing for Regulation Set M-C.
