rpr1020’s winning team was built around layered positioning tools and several strong special attackers. Raichu held Raichunite Y with Lightning Rod and carried Zap Cannon, Focus Blast, Fake Out, and Protect, giving the team both immediate disruption and a threatening attacking profile. Incineroar and Rillaboom added a second and third form of tempo control through Fake Out, while Incineroar’s Intimidate and Parting Shot gave rpr1020 reliable ways to soften opposing offense.
The offensive structure was notably special-heavy. Garchomp used Garchompite Z with a Modest nature and Draco Meteor, Power Gem, Earth Power, and Protect, while Primarina used Leftovers, Liquid Voice, Hyper Voice, Moonblast, Calm Mind, and Protect. Volcarona rounded out the core with Grassy Seed, Flame Body, Heat Wave, Giga Drain, Quiver Dance, and Protect. Between Calm Mind and Quiver Dance, the team had multiple ways to convert a positional advantage into a boosted endgame. Rillaboom’s Grassy Surge and Miracle Seed supported that plan while still threatening damage through Grassy Glide, Wood Hammer, and High Horsepower.
The top standings showed several clear clusters. Garchomp appeared on both first and second place teams, though in different forms: rpr1020 used Garchompite Z with Draco Meteor, while JadeLiberte used Life Orb with Dragon Pulse, Earth Power, Flamethrower, and Power Gem. Golisopod, Archaludon, and Pelipper were shared between the second- and third-place teams, forming a repeated rain-adjacent package with Drizzle, Electro Shot, and bulky protection options. JadeLiberte’s Pelipper used Sitrus Berry, while Fern696ando’s used Damp Rock, but both had Weather Ball, Hurricane, Helping Hand, and Wide Guard.
Basculegion ♀ also appeared twice in the top four, on Fern696ando’s Focus Sash Swift Swim set and KarklestheKit’s Choice Scarf Adaptability set. Focus Sash was a common item across the top cut of standings, appearing on Hisuian Arcanine, Basculegion ♀, Whimsicott, and several teams lower in the standings. Leftovers also stood out, appearing on Primarina, Archaludon, and Corviknight among the top four.
Takeaway for ladder players: this event rewarded teams that combined Fake Out or Wide Guard-style positioning with durable setup or high-pressure special attackers.
