mameonmon’s winning team blended flexible speed control with a clear sand offense mode. Tyranitar with Sand Stream and Chople Berry enabled Excadrill with Sand Rush, giving the team a direct way to pressure boards with High Horsepower, Iron Head, and Earthquake. Tyranitar also brought utility damage and disruption through Rock Slide, Knock Off, and Low Kick.

The other half of the team kept that offense from being one-dimensional. Whimsicott carried Focus Sash, Prankster, Tailwind, Encore, and Charm, giving mameonmon fast speed control and ways to punish passive or setup turns. Farigiraf added the slower mode with Trick Room, while Armor Tail gave the team protection against priority-style interaction. Its Nasty Plot set also meant it was not only a support piece.

The attacking core had several layers. Staraptor used Staraptite, Intimidate, Close Combat, Brave Bird, Tailwind, and Protect, adding both immediate damage and a second Tailwind user. Gholdengo rounded out the six with Life Orb, Good as Gold, Make It Rain, Shadow Ball, Power Gem, and Protect, giving the team a strong special attacker that could capitalize on the speed control already present.

Across the top teams, Whimsicott stood out immediately. The top three teams all used Focus Sash Whimsicott with Prankster, Moonblast, Tailwind, and Encore somewhere in the moveset. That made Tailwind plus disruptive Prankster support one of the clearest themes of the event.

There was also notable overlap in role compression. Farigiraf appeared on both mameonmon’s first-place team and IzuBrad’s fourth-place team, each with Sitrus Berry, Armor Tail, and Trick Room. Incineroar showed up on the third- and fourth-place teams, both with Intimidate and Fake Out, reinforcing its value as a pivot and tempo piece. Staraptor appeared on both first and third, each using Staraptite and Intimidate.

The final round match results included j0l0k0 defeating chuybreton, oriion defeating izubrad, and izubrad defeating basilix.

Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for teams that can switch between Tailwind pressure and Trick Room positioning without giving up offensive tempo.
