Forblaze’s winning team was built around layered protection and setup pressure. Eternal Flower Floette with Floettite, Flower Veil, Calm Mind, Draining Kiss, Dazzling Gleam, and Protect gave the team a bulky Fairy-type win condition that could scale over longer games. Delphox with Delphoxite, Nasty Plot, Heat Wave, Psyshock, and Protect supplied a second special setup threat, forcing opponents to respect both spread damage and single-target pressure.
The support structure was the standout part of the composition. Maushold brought Chople Berry, Friend Guard, Super Fang, Taunt, Follow Me, and Protect, compressing redirection, disruption, and damage assistance. Indeedee ♀ added Colbur Berry, Psychic Surge, Follow Me, Psychic, Helping Hand, and Trick Room, giving Forblaze another way to redirect attacks while also changing the speed dynamic. Sinistcha completed the defensive core with Kasib Berry, Hospitality, Matcha Gotcha, Rage Powder, Protect, and Shadow Ball. Incineroar rounded everything out with Sitrus Berry, Intimidate, Fake Out, Flare Blitz, Close Combat, and Parting Shot, giving the team the standard pivoting and attack control needed to buy turns for Calm Mind or Nasty Plot.
Across the top cut of the standings, several patterns stood out. Incineroar appeared on Forblaze, JadeLiberte, and israelpzl, always carrying Fake Out and Parting Shot. Sylveon with Fairy Feather and Pixilate was used by Yisso, JadeLiberte, and israelpzl, with Hyper Voice appearing on all three versions. Garchomp was another major presence: Yisso and CJ__black98 used Choice Scarf Rough Skin sets, while begonia17 and israelpzl used Garchompite Z special sets with Earth Power, Draco Meteor, Power Gem, and Protect.
Weather and speed control also showed up repeatedly. Yisso and begonia17 both paired Pelipper with Drizzle and Archaludon with Stamina and Electro Shot, while Yisso, begonia17, and israelpzl all used Charizard with Charizardite Y. Tailwind was present on Pelipper for Yisso and begonia17, and on Aerodactyl for CJ__black98. Trick Room appeared on Forblaze’s Indeedee ♀, JadeLiberte’s Farigiraf, and israelpzl’s Farigiraf, showing that the top teams were not relying on only one speed mode.
Takeaway for ladder players: teams that combine redirection, Fake Out or Parting Shot, and multiple setup or spread-damage threats were well positioned in this event.
