angrybook’s winning team was built around a clear sand offense shell. Tyranitar used Tyranitarite with Sand Stream, carrying Rock Slide, Knock Off, Dragon Dance, and Protect, while Excadrill paired with it through Focus Sash and Sand Rush. That gave the team immediate weather pressure and a fast physical attacker with High Horsepower, Iron Head, Rock Slide, and Protect.
The rest of the composition gave the sand mode strong support and flexible positioning. Rillaboom supplied Grassy Surge, Fake Out, Drum Beating, Grassy Glide, and High Horsepower with Miracle Seed, adding terrain control and priority damage. Incineroar brought the familiar Intimidate, Fake Out, Parting Shot, Flare Blitz, and Throat Chop package with Sitrus Berry, giving the team another way to slow opposing offense and create safer turns for setup or attacks.
Gholdengo was the main special snowball threat, using Grassy Seed, Good as Gold, Make It Rain, Shadow Ball, Nasty Plot, and Protect. In a field where disruption and redirection were present across top teams, Good as Gold plus Nasty Plot made it a major pressure piece. Staraptor rounded out the team with Staraptite, Intimidate, Close Combat, Brave Bird, Tailwind, and Protect, giving angrybook a second Intimidate user and a speed-control option that did not rely on sand.
Across the top teams, several patterns stood out. Rillaboom appeared on three of the top eight teams, each time with Miracle Seed and Grassy Surge. Incineroar also showed up three times, always with Intimidate and Fake Out. Gholdengo appeared on both angrybook’s and MakeItRain’s teams, both using Good as Gold, Make It Rain, Shadow Ball, Nasty Plot, and Protect. Gardevoir plus Indeedee ♀ was another major pairing, appearing on both D4RKEVA’s runner-up team and Zephyr0811’s fourth-place team with Psychic Surge support.
Focus Sash was also common, appearing on Excadrill, Whimsicott, Hisuian Arcanine, Armarouge, and Sneasler among the top eight. The repeated use of Tailwind on Staraptor and Whimsicott, plus Trick Room on Indeedee ♀, Hatterene, Farigiraf, and Torkoal structures, showed that speed control remained central to team construction.
Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for layered offense that combines Fake Out, Intimidate, terrain, and either weather or Psychic Surge-based pressure.
