Fluffy_m1n’s winning team leaned on layered pressure from multiple priority and setup angles. Kingambit carried Life Orb with Defiant and the familiar Kowtow Cleave, Sucker Punch, Swords Dance, Protect set, giving the team a direct endgame threat that could also punish Intimidate-based positioning. Rillaboom added Grassy Surge, Miracle Seed, Wood Hammer, Grassy Glide, High Horsepower, and Fake Out, supplying both damage and tempo control.
The support core was just as important. Sneasler used Focus Sash with Poison Touch, Jolly, Poison Jab, Close Combat, Fake Out, and Quick Guard, making it a flexible lead that could either trade damage or protect partners from priority. Incineroar provided Intimidate, Fake Out, and Parting Shot, with Passho Berry helping its positioning into Water pressure. Together, Rillaboom, Sneasler, and Incineroar gave Fluffy_m1n three Fake Out users, which likely made early turns very difficult to navigate for opponents.
The double Mega-style centerpiece came from Delphox and Eternal Flower Floette. Delphox held Delphoxite with Heat Wave, Psychic, Nasty Plot, and Protect, while Eternal Flower Floette held Floettite with Dazzling Gleam, Draining Kiss, Calm Mind, and Protect. Both offered special setup options, letting the team pivot between immediate Fake Out pressure, Kingambit cleanup, and boosted spread or Fairy-type damage.
Across the top cut of the standings, Sneasler was the clearest defining Pokemon. It appeared on all four top teams, though with different item and ability choices: Focus Sash Poison Touch for Fluffy_m1n, White Herb Unburden for Lestra and NickMint, and Focus Sash Unburden for okaime. Fake Out was also everywhere, appearing on Sneasler variants as well as Rillaboom and Incineroar.
Life Orb Kingambit appeared on both Fluffy_m1n’s and okaime’s teams with the same Defiant, Adamant, Kowtow Cleave, Sucker Punch, Swords Dance, Protect structure. Delphoxite Delphox and Floettite Eternal Flower Floette also appeared on both of those teams, suggesting that the special setup pair had real standing in this event. Meanwhile, Lestra’s runner-up squad went in a different direction with Tyranitarite Tyranitar, Focus Sash Excadrill, Choice Scarf Indeedee, and Salamencite Salamence, showing that sand and speed control still had room to succeed.
Takeaway for ladder players: prepare for Sneasler plus Fake Out-heavy positioning, and have a plan for both Kingambit endgames and Delphox/Floette setup turns.
