EnryuVGC’s winning team was built around a rain-based defensive core with multiple control layers. Politoed provided Drizzle and carried Sitrus Berry with Weather Ball, Perish Song, Encore, and Protect, giving the team both weather pressure and a direct endgame plan. Archaludon paired naturally with that rain mode, using Leftovers, Stamina, and Electro Shot alongside Dragon Pulse, Flash Cannon, and Protect to function as a durable attacker that could stay on the field.
The rest of the team supported that plan with positioning and disruption. Incineroar brought Intimidate, Fake Out, Parting Shot, Throat Chop, and Protect with Passho Berry, while Rillaboom added Grassy Surge, Fake Out, U-turn, Grassy Glide, and Protect with Eject Button. Those two picks gave EnryuVGC repeated ways to slow the game down, reposition, and create safe turns for Politoed, Archaludon, or Gengar.
Gengar was the other major centerpiece. With Gengarite, Cursed Body, Shadow Ball, Perish Song, Sludge Bomb, and Protect, it gave the team a second Perish Song user and more offensive pressure into common targets. Golisopod rounded out the six with Golisopite, Emergency Exit, Leech Life, Sucker Punch, Swords Dance, and Protect, adding priority and a setup threat that did not overlap too heavily with the rain-control core.
Across the top teams, rain was one of the clearest themes. EnryuVGC used Politoed with Drizzle, TheChoiceoffreedom used Pelipper with Drizzle, and JoMcCloud23 also had Politoed with Drizzle in sixth. Archaludon was another repeated standout, appearing on the first, fourth, and sixth place teams, each time with Leftovers, Stamina, Electro Shot, Dragon Pulse, Flash Cannon, and Protect.
Rillaboom also remained a major glue Pokemon, showing up on EnryuVGC, Rusticolus, JoMcCloud23, and TrisTran. Fake Out was heavily represented through Rillaboom, Incineroar, and Sneasler, while Sneasler appeared on Rusticolus, TheChoiceoffreedom, Exonarf, and AndreVGC with different items and ability choices. Sitrus Berry was common as well, appearing on Politoed, Rillaboom, Pelipper, Incineroar, and Mudsdale among the listed top teams.
Takeaway for ladder players: be ready for Drizzle plus Archaludon cores, and do not ignore Perish Song endgames when building against rain balance.
