DarkKnight918’s winning team was built around immediate pressure and flexible speed control. Charizard (Charizardite Y / Solar Power / Timid) carried Heat Wave, Weather Ball, Ancient Power, and Protect, giving the team a spread Fire option and a strong weather-based attacking slot. Whimsicott (Focus Sash / Prankster / Timid) supplied Tailwind, while also threatening Moonblast and using Encore to punish slower or defensive turns.
The rest of the team gave DarkKnight918 multiple physical pressure points. Kingambit (Occa Berry / Defiant / Adamant) ran Kowtow Cleave, Sucker Punch, Iron Head, and Low Kick, offering priority and a reliable Dark-type attacker into many board states. Basculegion (Life Orb / Adaptability / Adamant) added Wave Crash, Last Respects, Aqua Jet, and Protect, making it another aggressive attacker with priority access. Garchomp (Sitrus Berry / Rough Skin / Jolly) brought Dragon Claw, Earthquake, Rock Slide, and Protect, while Eternal Flower Floette (Floettite / Flower Veil / Modest) rounded out the six with Moonblast, Dazzling Gleam, Light of Ruin, and Protect.
The composition’s main strength was how cleanly it layered speed and damage. Whimsicott’s Tailwind helped enable Charizard, Garchomp, Eternal Flower Floette, and Basculegion, while Kingambit and Basculegion both had priority to function outside ideal speed conditions. Five members carried Protect, which also gave the team room to navigate turns around Tailwind, spread moves, and opposing pressure.
Across the top standings, Kingambit was the clearest shared pick. It appeared on each of the top four teams, with Occa Berry, Chople Berry, Black Glasses, and Life Orb all represented. Defiant and Adamant were consistent, and Kowtow Cleave plus Sucker Punch appeared repeatedly, showing how valuable its damage profile and priority were in this event.
Farigiraf and Sylveon were also common near the top. MrBear21 and kazo both used Farigiraf with Sitrus Berry and Armor Tail, and Sylveon with Fairy Feather and Pixilate. The same Farigiraf and Sylveon core also appeared on masajji’s team, while tannerv123 brought a very similar Raichu, Hisuian Arcanine, Staraptor, Farigiraf, Sylveon, Kingambit structure to kazo’s fourth-place roster.
Items followed some clear patterns as well. Focus Sash appeared on Whimsicott, Venusaur, Sneasler, Hisuian Arcanine, Pelipper, and Mimikyu across the listed top teams. Sitrus Berry was used on Garchomp, Farigiraf, Incineroar, Pelipper, and other repeated support or bulky pieces. Fairy Feather Sylveon remained a consistent offensive Fairy option, while several teams used Protect heavily to preserve positioning.
For ladder players, the clean lesson is that Regulation Set M-B rewarded teams that combined Tailwind or Trick Room options with immediate attackers and reliable priority.
